Many DAK jackets look too greenish to me, they have the same tone then the stalingrad ones. Kaki helmets and green jackets....^&confuse
No problem mate, I got you covered anything in the name of toy soldiers!!...SammyWell, since you gave me permission! Uh, will you talk to the wife when I skimp on Valentines Day gifts?
Olive green is the correct default color for Heer tropical cotton clothing. There was tremendous variation in Heer tropical clothing including examples of brown and tan tunics. Weathering and exposure to the sun would eventually bleach clothing white and they would often be covered in sandy dust. Tropical tunics can be identified by the breast eagle which is located lower than the regular tunic and partially overlaps the breast pocket flap.
I applaud First Legion for showing so much variation between the various items of clothing as this is far more representative of the rag tag look DAK actually had. I also applaud the widespread use of field caps as helmets were hot to wear.
Metal items such as helmets and gas mask canisters would be over painted with tropical vehicle colors such as RAL8020
Luftwaffe tropical clothing was much more consistent in regards to color which was amber yellow when new.

So I just got the new issue of Toy Soldier & Model Figure Magazine and what do I find but a nice little surprise. These figures look great and I'm starting to get the WWII itch again. The DAK fighting poses are remarkable and look to be very well done. Plus the headline indicates that the opposition is "close at hand". Sorry about the poor pic fellas but if you want a better image just check out the magazine.
I hope we get some kind of update email/newsletter with these sets in it, it has been awhile since the Stalingrad range had some announcements, I love my FJ's, SS, Paras, but hope that First legion has some goods for our boys in Stalingrad, that being said all 4 of these sets look outstanding...Sammy
