New Desert 25 Pounder Field Gun (1 Viewer)

I really had not intended to start a debate over metal vs. plastic; or bash the new gun, but was more curious if other guns were similar from some of you who are more experienced collectors. I always prefer metal with any of my pieces, but I have a pretty good collection of 1/32 scale Ultimate Soldier and Forces of Valor (FoV) most of which are plastic or have plastic parts. The price of Forces of Valor die cast/plastic is getting very expensive.

I buy K&C as a collector and prefer metal. Metal makes me feel like the piece is something substantial that won't warp, melt, or devalue over the years. Would I buy this gun again? Yes, but as I said before, I was a bit surprised with the light-weight parts. I've been wanting a WWII North African gun for a long time and this is a nice one. At the same time, I hope that the use of plastic/light weight parts is not a new trend for K&C.

My two cents.

^&confuse If you read my post correctly Neil I didn't say the Figarti guns are plastic. All I said is they are light as is the 25 pounder. I wouldn't have a clue what any of them are made of but like I said below, I have read that the 25 pounder is made of a mixture of resin and white metal.

Tom

Well that your opinion but I would not say the Figarti 155 mm and the 88 are light and there no plastic in them , as Fl we all know there made of resin so they would be light in the first place ,so don't know how you can compare them to KC latest 25 pounder gun ?

I have a Figarti 88 as well and in my opinion I reckon it's light so i'll guess we'll have to disagree Neil. I am not sure what you are on about regarding the FL guns. Of course you can make a comparison between them and the 25 pounder since they are both light and possibly made using the same materials (that is only a guess by the way).

That's what my post was about Neil, the Weight and answering Wayne's question which i'll repeat, I wouldn't have a clue or I do not know what the 25 pounder is made of except what I guessed below.

Sorry that this thread has turned into a debate WO, it was never my intention.

Not a problem Tom; I was just trying to clarify my intent of this post. Was not trying to bash the new gun as I really do like it.

I've got it prominently displayed behind glass replacing Churchill & His Generals:

Why are you posting pictures of toy soldiers on a toy soldier forum? You should be posting pictures of plastic, resin and other material samples.

Oh wait…….
