New Dragon Armor 1/35 Tiger I Tunisia 1942 (1 Viewer)

Hi John.

I'm pretty certain that Panzer IV is going to be a kit. The serial number doesn't match the Dragon Armor range.

The next 1/35 Dragon armor hasn't been anounced yet as far as i know.
I'd be willing to bet we will see a repaint of the Tiger before we get another new tank.

James: I just sent mail to Great Models and Dragon USA to check on that tank. I asked specifically if it is a diecast like Tiger model. If it is a kit I will cancell order. Not due out till middle of March. I can't find where I saw it was diecast. When they reply I will post it. John

Hi again John,

I had a quick look around for the Panzer IV model you mentioned. It looks like it has a different serial number from the upcoming Panzer IV model kit because it is a limited edition Cyber Hobby version.

Definitely a kit.

Hope the info helps.

I contacted Dragon USA. It's a kit according to the person I spoke with. I'll wait and pay an extra $20 for one thats already painted and assembled. I guess we will have to wait and see what comes next. One thing with Dragon they are always behind on releases...

The way Dragon has cut supply of this Tiger is a cunning tactic. It creates extra interest in the range. The prices shoot up and people will snap up their next releases.

I forsee a quick release of a repainted Tiger or two next. Then, I bet, we'll see either a Jagdpanther or King Tiger if they follow their original 1/72 line.
I doubt very much we'll see any Allied armour in the forseeable future. Dragon loves their German stuff.

Thanks guys for the information on that PZ.IV. I got an email from Dragon online and it is a kit. You were right. I am glad you armor guys noticed or I would be stuck with a kit. Something to add to tubs of armor kits here. I cancelled that item and will get some 1/72 diecast kits. I don't know why I thought it was a diecast. Thanks again John

I received my April issue of wwll magazine and Dragon got a full color back page advertising their AK Tiger and to order one. Wondering if they will supply more to market if advertisement is that new? I would get another one and make a winter Tiger. John They list Canadian distributer as www.Mikerian.com

Hey John I received the same mag today which as you said shows the add for the Tiger. I wonder if it just ran late and Dragon couldn't pull it in time. I received my Tiger today along with 2 1/72 Stug varients and the Hornisse. The Tiger feels more like a model than diecast but it still is pretty good. I purchased the tank crew so it will liven things up a bit. I thought being African Korps it would have been a little more tan in color. Its still a keeper. The Hornisse is really detailed for 1/72 and is one of my fav's.

Yes the Tiger don't seem as heavy has the FOV armor. I did not take mine off of stand yet but I wished they made it a little lighter in color. Also their is a tiny piece taped to bottom of stand. I am not sure where it goes or is it a small part that fits somewhere? I got the 1/72 stug and panther so far.I got some Dragon tank figure kits and not sure if I want to do them has panzer crew or Ak crew. The Ak set of guys are more action poses so I would have to convert some. John

John as far as I can determine that small piece that is taped to the bottom of the stand goes in the front of the turret somewhere. Maybe to hold the elevation of the main gun??? Hopefully Easy or someone else can give us some insight on this.

That tiny piece is a mystery to me too.

The greeny colour is apparently quite accurate for the initial production 501st Tiger Battalion. They don't seem to have the DAK palm tree insignia.

I found a diagram with piece that is taped under stand and it goes on front left top of turret and saw some pics of it but have no idea what it was used for?? John
