New figures previewed on FL website (1 Viewer)

Could actually be Crusades. I believe what started the conflicts leading up to the Fall of Acre was a joint Crusader / Mongol attack on the Saracens, which they repulsed. The Mongols left and the Sultan had his excuse to invade. One reason it is interesting is that most of the time the Templar advocated aggressive action and the Hospitallers were more conservative. This time the Hospitallers instigated both the alliance with the Mongols and the battle plan.

Although the loss was not as devastating as Hattin (in fact I believe tactically it might have been a draw tactically) it was a disaster strategically.

But no way in Hades is that a Mongol warrior. It is on a Pinto (not the car) has a Plains Indian Headdress and clearly has an animal hide shirt on like a Plains Indian. Definitely Plains Indian. Also pretty sure those are bear claws around his neck.

The Pinto convinces me it’s a horse used by Native American of the Plains. It’s reminiscent of the wild horses I have seen near the Nevada Utah border.

I agree, that this a mounted Plains Indian is shown in that picture.
He’s riding a “painted” horse and I’m rather sure that it is a so called “coup stick” in his hand.

I believe by the previous figures of this serie that will continue from the wild west style Holywood.

Hard to dispute that as I was thinking the same thing in regards to the horse as I made that initial post. If you can see bear claws, your vision is better than mine. I couldn't tell what it was myself. Not sure how many bears are out running around on the plains.

There were plenty of Plains Grizzly as well as wolves on the Great Plains back in the day. The buffalo herds provided an endless food source for them.

My guess is American Plains indian with full eagle feather headress, yes, bear claw necklace, and a very large diameter coup stick.
a little too big maybe.
the pinto horse is also a giveaway. he has a beaded mask on his horse, saddle blanket, and i'm hoping (certainly can't see any here) maybe some war paint on the horse as well.

Looks like the warrior is carrying a lance, not a coup stick. You can see part of the blade at its bottom end. Many warrior societies carried lances wrapped in fur. The image is too cropped to reveal any specific tribal identification, and the shirt is plain without any beaded or quilled decoration. Without seeing the headdress I can't even venture to guess at the tribe.

Went to FL site to see clearer image. yes, lance with perhaps wrapping of fur. you can see the tip more clearly.

frank M. used a small model for background to great effect. It added a lot of depth.

I'm looking forward to the Soviet Naval Infantry too. Now we need a grain elevator diorama piece (about four feet in height) to display them. :)

Only 4 feet high? Give someone on this forum time, they'll build it. Lol

A little hard to tell but will be welcome additions to the WW range.

The Wild West figures really do look interesting.
My first thought when seeing the two boys, was “Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn” :wink2: ^&grin
