In that horizontal pose ... the ground base is unnecessary and is a distraction. How many would vote for no base ?

Agreed, no base neccessary for these dead, wounded poses. Much more flexibility without the bases.

Well I have multifarious problems with this piece.

1. The rifle is wrong. It should be a Lee Enfield .303 SMLE with hooked quillon bayonet.
2. Bearskin hats were not worn. Slouch hats, caps and topi's were.
3. Silly over elaborate uniforms were not issued. Many men were in 'grayback' shirt sleeve order and trousers were often cut into shorts.

With this in mind, I have to say that this is a very disappointing first figure from the Gallipoli range that I specifically requested.
