New FL Napoleonic Releases (1 Viewer)

Love both of the new mounted personalities! They will make great stand alone pieces, but would really be nice next to a British command set.......

This is what a guy likes to see after being away from the forum for a week.

It was a great surprise and I expect it is only the beginning.:D

I am hoping to eventually see some lads (and lords) in these

attacking or defending with their beasties of course.

I'm thinking Wellington is just around the corner!!! Looks like Uxbridge is turning in his saddle toward someone... The suspense is killing me... Except for 2 British Guards, I have put my First Legion purchases on hold until we get the Wellington figure and I feel it is closing in on us soon! Way to go Matt... you have a way of enticing your collectors! :):):)

It sounds like you may need some more Guards; otherwise what is Wellington going to deploy?;):D Of course he was a master horseman and frequently left his aides in the dust so a mounted Wellington would seem a bit of a sine qua non.

Just some random thoughts here, but the more I think about it, a British command set would be an awesome addition to First Legion's line. I think this would be a very popular set as well.

Since Wellington spent most of the Battle of Waterloo mounted, it would be understandable for such a potential command set to be 3-4 figures instead of the usual 6-7 like the French/Russian sets. However, I think this would be more than made up for by the ability to add Uxbridge, the Prince of Orange and even the Grenadier Guard mounted officer to any command set.

Matt could clean up if he could make Uxbridge's leg removable. Then you could use him either before or after he lost his leg.
By Dawd sir I've lost my leg.
By Gawd sir so you have.

I think that a mounted command set for the British would be the way to go. The command group near a working gun would make a great diorama.

Interesting but I am not sure of the utility of that mate. Uxbridge didn't return to battle after the amputation but, in an over the top display of British pluck, remained awake and without anesthetic during the operation, noting at one point: The knives appear somewhat blunt:eek: Later he is said to have remarked: Who would not lose a leg for such a victory?
After the battle Uxbridge had himself fitted with an articulated above-knee artificial leg invented by James Potts. It had a hinged knee and ankle and raising toes and became known as the Anglesley leg.;)
