It looks like the new FOV catalog/flyer will be coming out in October. If anybody would like me to send them a copy send me an email with your address and I will mail you one. I can't make any promises as to how many I will have but I will send as many as I can. You can send your request to sales@crossroadsdiecast.com.

Thanks

That's great to hear, FOV has great stuff and it always exciting to see what they have planned for the future even if they usually run 4-6 months late on their release dates.

We all still like them anyway. Any idea what new stuff is coming out and at what scale?

Carlos

I don't really have any new information on that. I'm sure most of you know as much as I do.

-They have a new 1:16 Tiger I coming out. Nov release I think.

-From what I understand they will be discontinuing their 1:72 line. They plan on bringing the scale back out. They will be reissuing them again though.

-They have a new "Historical Legends" release. They are vinyl 1:32 scale soldiers covering Roman soldiers, Vikings, 100 Years War, Pirates and Civil War. I don't have any pictures on those.

I will try and put out info on the new stuff when I get it.

Happy to help out with the photos, since I think these new plastic FoV figures are amazing, particularly for the very low price. Here are shots of Romans, Vikings and 100 Years War medievals. I'm not into pirates so don't have any of those, and in my area the ACW figures haven't shown up yet.

Enjoy:

That's the first set of pix, and should give a pretty decent idea of the 'look and feel' of the new FoV plastic soldiers. More pix to follow shortly.

Here are the rest of my photos of the FoV plastic figures:

Sometimes just seeing the figures instead of reading about them makes all the difference.

These plastics remind me of the old Britains herald stuff. Can they be that good?

I haven't gone near them as they are being offered at large retailers - target or walmart - at a price point that is unfair to us small guys.

But are they as good as the old Herald range?

Gideon, I think they are better than the early Heralds.

Oz, I think that's a huge understatment. They are in a different league and look a huge improvement on the earlier FOV releases.

I don't collect these eras, but think I'll have to make an exception for the Romans.

I am thinking of adding them to my offerings but the margin is awefull.

They do look incredible.

You really think better than the old Herald series??????

Gideon,

Definately, in my humble opinion. I grew up with Herald, Airfix and a smattering of others, and whilst great at the time, these figures look far superior in all aspects - poses, scuplting and paint job. I have to confess to not having seen them in the flesh yet, but the photos are pretty convincing evidence.

I do hold a bit of a nostalgic torch for some of the figures I played with as a kid, but I'm going to be getting some of the Romans, as these look very good, even though it's not my usual era.

I'm not a dealer, but I can see that the profit margin must stink.

I spoke with the FOV rep this afternoon and she told me that it would be another week or so before they announce their new releases. If anybody else is interested in a Forces of Valor catalog just let me know. They should be out by the end of the month as well.

thanks

Hi Ronnie, would you be able to post some pics of the new catalog for us in remote regions :)

Btw, I hope the new and improved FOV figure look will apply to their WWII range in the near future because they weren't very good compared to some of their excellent vehicles.

Hey Ozdigger,

I will try and put a copy (or at least some pics) of the new catalog up. I that the individual sets of soldiers are not as good as the one available with the vehicles. It looks like if nothing else they will be releasing some new paint schemes shortly. I expect there will be a new vehicle or two but I can't guarantee it.

Thanks

I'd like to see some Afrika Korps based stuff to go against my 8th Army figs, Grant and Matilda.
