New glider troops (1 Viewer)

How big would a glider have to be for use with our K&C Troops ?

About a 34 inch wingspan. At both the Chicago show and the Symposium Andy and Gordon were openly discussing ideas to make a Waco Glider with separate wings and a two part body that fit together, to enable easier and more affordable shipping. We'll have to see what happens.

I will need a bigger Curio Cabinet then... ;)

The poor U.S. glider troops didn't even get additional pay at first, despite the fact that the glider landings were statistically more dangerous than parachuting in. Also they weren't volunteers who chose the additional danger as the paratroops did, they were just regular infantry assigned as glider troops. It must have really been a tough position to find yourself in.

Also a lot of the glider pilots flunked out of flight school and when there weren't enough of those, the co pilot was someone picked out of your stick and given a couple of days of training. Talk about warm and fuzzy feelings.

So now that the pics of the Glider troops are up,how many of you think you will get these?.

Rob

I think I'll probably pass, for now, on most of the D Day releases except for the Jeep, the photographer and the war correspondent. Not sure I have the room for that M 12.

That's probably a bit beyond my means if Andy makes it in a Conn version and even if it's not that expensive, I just don't have room for something like that in 1/30 scale. That would be pretty big.

You have a ceiling - right? ;)

I really like the Glider troops but i have got to get my hands on that M12 and Jeep first. And then theres those forthcoming Red Devils.

Rob

I got to give you credit Ron,you just never give up!:)

With the amount of lobbying we gave Andy for the Para's, we drove him mad,i don't think he'd want to delay them!

World War II is over done - lets start making something that would be a big seller - WAR of 1812

I would love the Wild West,i think it would be cool.

Rob

Yes i think your right,i would also like to see him do Custer again. There was talk of this and then it went on the back burner when Crusaders were released.

Rob

I really like the look of them but i am not into them enough to justify more money. Its all about the budget!.
