Very nice. I've always liked the Japanese caps, very distinctive.

Most impressive!

I was just watching a special on the Japanese defense of Okinawa and the program showed how the Japanese strategically positioned these "big guns" in caves and rolled them back after firing a few rounds.

Was wondering what TGM was going to produce as the new artillery piece. Looks like a most formidable gun!

EDIT 1: I like the figure poses as well. Nice!

EDIT 2: Now we need a little bunker to hide this bad boy!

EDIT 3: Type 90 75 mm field gun?

Pretty cool, just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water. Robin.

A little weathering on the gun would make it perfect.

Certainly will place order for this set

Now have a site prepared for the installation of the gun. Just have to hope TG’s move has gone to plan and they are settling in, to once again begin the attack. Robin.

I am a bit perplexed with the figures for this gun.

  • There is one gunner with his right hand up, so he should be the gun commander, and at the rear of the gun, between the trails directing the crew.
  • One kneeling gunner is holding a round, and ready to load between the trails.
  • Another kneeling gunner is sitting on the trail, nothing in his hands, but 2 rounds are standing upright next to him but he may be operating the breech?
  • Then there is a officer on the radio (or Facebook ???).
To operate this gun the 3 gunners I listed first are good and appropriate, but there is no one to sight and fire the gun!

Maybe Tom, you can ditch the officer from this set and make him an 'add on' single figure and get a new gunner to take the job to sight and fire the gun???

Nice gun though, and it looks like a 75mm M30 gun to me :)

I made a mistake on my ID of this gun....

It's a 75mm Type 90 field gun.

The Type 90 75 mm field gun was unique among Japanese artillery pieces in that it had a muzzle brake. The carriage was of the split trail type. The Type 90 was built in two version: one with wooden wheels suitable for animal (horse) draft, and another with solid rubber tires and a stronger suspension for towing by motor vehicles. The latter weighed 200 kilograms (440 lb) more.

I'm wondering if this is the final paint scheme or if there may be a few variants (i.e. camo). Either way, I'm liking it!

This is a neat set for sure! Thomas Gunn needs to make a “Japanese Bunker” or “Japanese Cave” accessory set to house the cannon...

Awesome; really impressed with the TGM releases over the past year. Diverse and unique offerings.
{bravo}}

There is usually something good coming out of the TG stables. It's odd but I don't collect WW2 (I tend to collect everything but). Having said that when it comes from TG I normally pick something up. Not sure why?

You've got some fantastic pieces in your collection, Gary, Always enjoy your pictures. In re. to TGM, I'm guessing it's because they offer a most unique collection of pieces and accessory sets.

Hi Thomas Gunn Miniature design Team,

As a follow up to John´s comments as to the more adequate gun garrion set up...see the attached picture.

Cheers

Hopefully there are some offerings soon for September and this gun will feature. That Oxen wagon must be coming to the top of the pile also. TG always produce interesting items to fill the gaps. Robin.
