New K&C Images (2 Viewers)

I'm sorry Lt., I am not sure I understand your post? Which K&C Sherman, or do you mean the Chaffee depicted above? Do you mean the quality of the model, or the capabilities of the real tank? If you mean the latter, the Sherman is certainly not one of my favorites, but, as to quality of Model, one of my favorite pieces in my whole collection is the 1996 wood and metal British 30 Corps Sherman, which is amazing. If you are talking about the Chaffee above, it is pretty amazing, and looks to become one of my favorites.

It's an answer I expected Louis being King and Country:):):):):)The Lt.

Can you use the Olive Chafee at Normandy?
Perhaps Gary can answer that one. I would appreciate it.

 Love the PANZER IV Tank with its Crew and the Tank Rider's,and the Men sitting in the Opel Blitz Truck! NOW, we could use a Walking/Fighting Patrol, with Short Trouser's and Pith Helmets! CIAO!

I'm with you John. Italian troops with those pith helmets and the plumes. :D

Sorry, the M24 Chaffee was still finishing testing in the summer of 1944. The first few didn't get to the troops until right before the Battle of the Bulge and they became more numerous through 1945. The US light tank through Normandy was the M5A1 (DD67, I believe). M5A1s served some units right to the end of the war.

Thank you Gary for that prompt and knowledgable answer.

Re: New K&C Images- where is this thing going????

Ok- looks like everyone has had a moment to digest the new releases.

I am left wondering- where is this thing headed?? It seems to me, since the release of the "Assasination" set that KC is just kind of throwing unusual or niche sets in the DDay range- where are the Candians for starters- they were there too.

So then we have the Afrika Korps set- I mentioned this once before on a former thread- here is the equation as I see it:

Panzer 2+Panzer 3+Panzer 4+10.5 CM Field Gun+ Stug+ Tiger+ NEW panzer 4= Matilda and Vickers????:confused::confused:

Is it me or when is this thing ever going to balance out?? The AK figures all look SUPERB- no doubts there- but where is it going?? We have all these lines- Waffen SS, Bulge and Afrika Korps and the LAH- it just seems to me that collectors are being funneled into the German side of the coin.

What were the DDay Allied offerings in 07?? Some single US paras and the field gun- ok- nice but not nearly as expansive as these other theaters. The Bulge did open up somewhat with Americans.

I dunno, I just feel like those of us who are WW2 collectors are being funneled into taking all of these German offerings over and over again.

Why not open up the Eastern Front?? Why not expand the Iwo line and do the Pacific and issue some Anzacs- I know, I know, the man has a business to run and what sells is always somewhat different from what each and every collector wants.

I still think the Ellie is fantastic and that when we look back at 08, it will be one of the standouts.

The Chafee's- again, look great but they don't fit anywhere on the grid for my collection so I'm gonna pass on em. Can we perhaps expect a Centurion somewhere down the road this year (assuming we are looking at 1945 armor).

Yeah, I'm rambling- guess confusion does that to a guy

Gimme Caesar in 08!!

Because we are trying to keep the collectors awake and interested :D

Agree need more alllies, especially late war NW Europe, Commonwealth (including winter) Desert 8th Army and 14th Army. Ciao, JG is my leader! And I am serious.

More WWII how much more. Does no other series get a look in these days. Oh sorry WWI does and that only came 5th or lower on recent poll on this site, behind Naps in 2nd place, Cru, and Crimea these last 2 could be wrong way round. Naps got just under half as many votes as WWII but only gets one batch of new releases per year while WWII gets about 10!!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh CC - You have never smelled the smoke of a French 10 Pounder after the heat of battle....smells like ..... victory :D

Blah Blah Blah - WWII - lets make some colorful figures back when warfare was an ART - not just killing.

Does anyone now if the Panzer IV is very different to the Blitz Krieg Pz VI's. Will we be seeing a field gray version soon do you think?

Great new releases FFi especially!

hate to say this but I agree up to a point..................trouble is just keeping up with some WW2 means can't do the others justice - may be time for a rethink....................

I really cannot recall in my ten years of KC collecting, such disparity in major lines like this- usually its been a pretty balanced offering but here we are on another Panzer IV and the Crusader or Grants haven't even been touched.

The quality isn't in question, it's there in spades, its just the selection.

The Panzer IV has GOTTA be released for FoB. I think it is a no brainer that we will see it this year in that line.

From what I undestand, there were some variants on the guns- low velocity rounds combining HE rounds. After '41, they switched up to the 75mm which improved accruacy. I thought the Desert war Panzers were the long nosed versions, not the snubbies used in France but it looks like I was wrong.

Nothing strikingly different between the two though.
