We are approaching that time of year where Children start to get excited, eager young hands write lists of presents they'd like,we all eat and drink too much, excited hands tear at unopened boxes and we all meet the fat man with a Jolly laugh and a big round belly.Yes you've guessed it,its almost time for the London show!!;)

Now you know me,i normally run screaming at the K&C tables hurling money at them and whatever the money hits i buy.However this year i've a slightly more studied plan.Instead of spending my dosh in a scatter gun fashion i'm considering spending my whole budget on one range and buying pretty much all i need from that one range.I sat down and worked out everything i want from the following ranges and how much i'd have to spend on each range to get almost all the stuff i want from it.;

FOB (GERMAN)£475
FOB (ALLIED)£433
AK £423
8TH ARMY £494
ARNHEM £454
GERMAN FORCES £372
FJ'S (CRETE)£258
BULGE (US) £278.

So i have to pick one of these. So far there are three front runners.FOB German,AK and 8th Army. The 8th Army package is sooo tempting as it includes both Chevys,Jeep,Ambulance,Crusader.FOB is also attractive as it includes all the Grey vehicles in this series including the Stug and MKIV.The AK is another great group as it also has both the above vehicles plus field gun and the superb M/Bike and sidecar.

What do you think of my plan chaps, and do any of you ever go to a show and just stick to one range?.

Rob

When you say that time of year, I think World Series, the fall classic :)

It's all good you can't go wrong any way.
However... like i said yesterday your Grey vehicle plan has been on the backburner for a while so maybe now is the time to jump in!

Then again the EA has to be a contender as you already have a good EA collection.

What its coming down to James is this.A decision between a series that has the Stug and MKIV neither of which i have yet,or all that lovely new 8th Army stuff?.

Rob

Rob,

Concentrating on one series is a good idea, but I have another suggestion. The tanks tend to get retired first. So instead one series, get some tanks now and save the infantry and support vehicles for later, unless there is something you really want that is about to be retired. I tend to buy the sets I want that have been around longest first.

So get the Stug, MKIV, SAS Chevys and the AK Field Gun, since it might be retired soon.

Thats a good idea Ken,it does make sense to buy the older stuff first i guess.I really don't want to miss the Stugs and MKIV's,to be honest i'd like them in both Grey and AK colours

Get the Mars Bars in mate,i'm looking to ignore the credit crunch and have a spending spree in London(but don't tell the wife;))

Rob

Rob,

Were you getting a CS Stug as well?

Andy

Hey Andy,

THATS ANOTHER THING I FORGOT!.CS Excellant new Stug,i'll check it out in London and decide. How about you Andy, will you be going home with this one?.

Rob

Rob mate, I think I've got the answer.
Make sure you've got £3,200 on your credit card and buy the lot.
The good news is that you'll still have £13 left over to be spent on Mars Bars.

Or, if you bumped it up to £5k, you could also pick up the Crimean figures, a CS stug and pre order a K5.

Can I also interest you in some shares in Icelandic banking?

Re: New K&C Plans

You make it sound all so easy mate, with no consequences when i get home:D.Iceland must have plenty of money, their still paying Kerry Katona for those god awful adverts!

Rob

I really want to focus on the crete guys rather than just the 2007 figures but not the vehicles.

Rob,

Bought the CS Arnhem Tiger on Monday from Mark at TM Terrain. I may even get the Winter one at the London show with one of the Stugs (you won't be disapointed with this one). So yet another decision to make. Do you start also collecting the new CS Waterloo figures as well?

Which K&C range are you also buying.......:D

For me, definately the CS Stug (probably Arnhem one), the K&C UK Crimean bits and bobs, new Britains Zulu and WWI sets, and some JG stuff. Oh yeah, also check with Clive about the Pz IV and Monty. Must also remember to pop down to Modelzone for the new limited Edition Britains Rorkes Drift set.

Guess what, it starts all over again next year.

Just based on the cool vehicle factor alone I would probably lean toward the 8th Army group (although I have not yet bought British WWII figures). My own second choice would probably be the gray vehicles - they just look very interesting. There is a lot to be said for buying the tougher items first though. I know the new K&C King Tiger is at the top of my Christmas list, even though there are so many longer-existing items I want. I just want to make sure I get my hands on one of these.

Yes, absolutely! And don't forget the WB collectors club Rorke's Drift figure. Also will be watching WWI for new developments. :)
