The good news is that this K&C set costed me only $5.00, the bad news is that it is just for the "Stray Dog" set of the Streets of Old Hong Kong series, set# HK177. Well, what due you expect to get for only $5.00? The further good news is that the $5.00 included free shipping from Florida, USA. I was amazed to see that the seller via eBay paid over $6.00 USPS postage for Priority Mail service. Obviously not a sale that gave him a profit. In any case, I will very unlikely get this kind of deal again. While I thought the "Stray Dog" figure would be a little bigger than it in fact was I still can not complain and the little dog looks nice enough on my big SOOHK display. I put it on top of one of the Dock sections or jetties so as to give the little figure a chance of being seen. See two photos below, one of just the little "Stray Dog", HK177 and another photo showing an overview of the immediate area of the SOOHK display where I have added the "Stray Dog".

It's little touches like that wee pup that give life and interest to dioramas! Please show us more of your display.

Dear Mike:

Thank you very much for your positive comments! I almost did not bother to start this Thread relative to just showing off the "wee pup" or the "Stray Dog" of K&C's set# HK177. I have posted assorted photos before of my Streets of Old Hong display back in 2010. However, I am happy to honor your request for more photos by now posting #3 photos that give a general overview of the entire 84 by 29 inch display area. All figures & buildings are made by K&C. The fish pond and assorted bushes & flowers were made by John Gittins of England. The British Union Jack flag was made by "The Flag Dude" in Alabama, USA. I hope you enjoy these three overview photos.

Best regards, "Iron Brigade" / Gary

Gary...

WOW!!!

great collection...
great display...
it looks like you really thought this one out before you set it up...
I love it!!!!

Good catch Gary deals like that are few and far between. K&Cs Streets of Hong of Kong is one of if not their best series. Like anything you have to see it up close to appreciate it. If only I could get my wife to collect them instead of English Tea cups I would be a happy camper.

Dear "ROUGH RIDER" / John:

Thank you very much for your splendid comments, as they say in England, Cheers!

A $5 item lost in a $5000 diorama. Great layout, a fantastic series. Thanks for posting. Cheers, Robin.

That little black dog goes well with a lot of K&C sets. As for mine, he's part of a WW1 display. I once ordered a second black dog so that I could get my hands on a generic green box for a figure I bought on eBay that didn't come with a box. Though it doesn't come with any foam on the inside, I was happy to have it for the cost of the $5 dog.

I also want to thank "SGT. Rock" of Chicago, IL, USA & "Villagehorse" of Australia for their comments today. I noted that the $5.00 HK177 set came in a K&C Collectors Club box that had a blank label over top of the box. It would appear that the the seller had no original set box for it. But, I can hardly complain with total cost including shipping being only $5.00 USD.

Hi Gary,

I always enjoy viewing photographs of your splendid "Streets of Old Hong Kong" display.

To be honest, I think yours is the best display of this range on the forum. You constantly update it with the new sets and skilfully blend in the new with the retired. I am sure Karen helps you with this being her favourite of your many displays.

Many thanks for your email message of 2nd February. I have not read your latest article in TS&MF, but I sure it is OK.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Dear Raymond:

Thank you for your splendid remarks about my or perhaps I should say our (My wife, Karen and I) display of K&C's Streets of Old Hong Kong. While it is my wife's most favorite display it is also at least high up on my list of displays or dioramas I like very much as well.

Best regards, Gary
