What is your opinion to the new 101st and 82nd airborn figures?..How does this compare of compliment former kc release?...thanks in advance

Judging by the photos of the new sets, they look like they'll compliment the original US Airborne figures perfectly. I'll be getting both sets to go with the first 3 figures.
Still in negotiations with where to hang them though. Apparently, they do not compliment the home decor hanging from over the stairs in the landing.

I think they look very good indeed.I have the previous version of this and they are excellent, the old and new figures look quite similar and I think they will go very nicely together.I will also be getting these new releases, can't help myself!;)

You don't negotiate an air drop location. It's meant to be a surprise! No one expects an air drop. :D

Fair one, although I don't believe the 82nd or 101st had to take on my wife armed with a pair of scissors either. She makes a very good tactical ground defence.

One small piece of advice, when you get them out of the box unfurl the chutes slowly and carefully,if you rush it you may get them twisted and it can be difficult to undo this,I had no problems when I did it but I understand some have.

That was my hesitation in buying the first issue and, as things often happen, one thing led to another and I never purchased it. Now, it's too expensive.

However, that was made about four years ago so I'm wondering if perhaps these will be made in a different way.

Also, I'm wondering if it heralds the return of paratroopers generally.

So do you think you'll get some Brad?

Rob

I will be getting these new ones. Since I never did get the older ones.

Brad aka Jazz Man:

The older set is still around. I found a set from Pam Brunton recently. I think the Old Toy Soldier home has it in stock for reference. True, a little patience helps when opening it up but it was fairly easy and they have quickly become one of my favorite non true aviation related sets. In short, buy the old set and get the new ones. They make for a great display!

Enjoy,
Marc

Simon,do you think anyone else noticed!!:D;)

I thought Andy recently mentioned that there were no American Paras planned for the near future. Does the release of these two new sets indicate more to come?

It could,or maybe its just that the previous version sold very well and Andy decided to make them again?.

It surprised me that he would do another set of parachutes. I don't think the first set sold all that well - they seemed to be available for quite a long time. But you never know with K&C

Terry

When K&C did Brits and Canucks for Normandy this year it was done with real depth, perhaps this is the start of a similar treatment of American forces. Also K&C do revisit releases that are popular either with collectors or Andy, either way its a good chance for those who misssed out first time round.
