This is disappointing. The girl maiden and pretzel vendor are a good head and shoulders taller than a "tall" 54mm figure. I'll try to shorten them a bit to fit my collection. LEMAX has gone to a larger scale figure recently with their 1940s 50s Christmas figures. The GI is saying: "Holy Cow! They grow 'em tall here!"

I always thought the LEMAX figures were taller than 54mm, closer to 56mm. Aren't they based on a model railroad scale, rather than any of the commonly-used scale modeling scales?

Prost!

The toy soldier shown is by Toy Soldiers of San Diego which are 1/32nd scale; which is slightly smaller then the 54mm scale. The glossy Britain figures are also 1/32nd scale, but Britains appear to have gone to the 54mm scale for their Matte figures (easier to paint to show more detail). These ladies maybe more suited for dioramas having figures by King & Country, Collectors Showcase, Thomas Gunn, and Del Prado.

I think the accompanying soldier is more in awe of the size of the mug of beer than he is with the size of the girl. Anyway, Try putting her in a scene where all the GIs are sitting at a table to see if the size difference is still so noticeable.

In the works. Shortening the height of the Oktoberfest Girls.

I don't speak German but Google translates pretzel as "brezel". So how come her tray shows the English word? Maybe she's targeting the GI market? {sm4}

The primer shows flaws that need fixing. The faces are pretty good.

Great improvements, Scott! The Bedienung is now much better suited to use in toy soldier dioramas.

May I offer a suggestion? The mugs should be a light to medium grey, for the classic stoneware mugs. You might even want to add a brewery logo. Most common, back in the day, was cobalt blue.

Prost!

Thanks Brad. I was going for the clear glass steins I saw in modern photos. I have two more that I'll paint as you suggest.
