We have great pleasure in announcing a new name on the Toy Soldier Scene..........

THE MODEL ARMOURY

Established by collectors for collectors.

With the demise of many of the cottage industry producers we felt there was sufficient unsatisfied demand to investigate what could be done.
Having teamed up with talented, experienced sculptors our intention is to resurrect, re-energise and perhaps enhance that traditional cottage industry style.
Proudly sculpted, produced and painted in the UK we shall initially be focussing on Glossy 1/32 scale products primarily WW1.

However, always open to suggestions, we are more than willing to hear from collectors as to their particular preferences.
If it's achievable both from a production and economic viewpoint we can add to our already burgeoning list of potential subjects.
We have a web listing at "www.themodelarmoury.co.uk" and can be contacted on info@themodelarmoury.co.uk

Grey Goose Collectables will act as sole distributor for now and we have linked to their website whilst we build out our own.
The first offerings are posted now, with additions coming over the next week to coincide with prototypes being available for viewing at the forthcoming Chicago show.

The First product off the bench is the 4.7 ins gun and crew/s
The Gun is all metal and has opening breach. 2 four man crews accompany each set, one for the Western Front and one for a tropical setting with their Wolseley Helmet.
Priced at £165 ($225) These are ready for despatch following the Chicago show.

Will there be an opportunity (eventually) for those of us who prefer to paint their own - to buy any of your offerings as unpainted castings Clive? johnnybach

Okay Alan - mine was just a general question for now - and as the web-site is still evolving, I'll wait until it gets fully formed before contacting Clive with a more specific request.

It always seems a bit odd to me, that simple details - like "Can be ordered painted or unpainted - gloss or matte" - are not given at the outset of any new venture such as this. But maybe it's just me?? Ho-hum. jb

Hi JB,

They are all pre painted in either glossy or matte, so the choice is between the paint style, but I do not believe at this time there will be unpainted castings.

Hope that helps,

Tom

Hi Tom - yes, I thought that might be so - but thanks for confirming. I'm sort-of hoping that the words "at this time", might be the case here - which could possibly change as the Company evolves. Presently, the first product is being marketed by another Company - so what I'm hoping is that as more product becomes available - and the initial painted products have been sold - they may become available as unpainted castings too.

They are never going to sell me any painted products - as that isn't my hobby. But I might be tempted to try some of their castings - as they look pretty good - and I know that some of the people involved have sold similar products that way before.

I'll wait until they become more established - with possibly their own web-site/marketing function - and then, when some more product becomes available - ask the question directly. If the answer is NO - then they don't sell me anything - Simples! :D jb
