I loved that 4 new camel Dromedaries have been released this month as part of Napoleon's Oriental Expedition,
but I'm quite perplexed about the new Bugler NE032 !!!!
What I can't determine is what Regiment does this trooper come from??
From my resources I find that there were 5 mounted units:
The only unit that fits the new figure's uniform details in any way is the Trumpeter from the Guides a Cheval, but with some reservations.
My sources show a mid blue coat, and red piped blue lapels, sleeves with red pointed cuffs, red collar and red turnbacks with red/yellow aguilette on the left shoulder. He wears a bicorn hat with red over blue plume. The image I have depicts the trooper wearing blue trousers and a red waistcoat with yellow lace.
This new figure has mid blue coat, and red edged WHITE lapels, sleeves with red pointed cuffs, red collar and WHITE turnbacks with yellow aguilette on the left shoulder. He wears a bicorn hat with red over blue plume. This is trooper wearing BUFF trousers and a WHITE waistcoat with yellow lace.
So whats correct ????
Maybe Andy can enlighten me becasue I may be wrong, but if I buy this figure I think I'll need to do a remedial paint job to get it right (according to my sources)
Any comments on this uniform detail will be most welcome.
To fit in with the Dromedaries I would have prefered a bugler on a camel, becasue they all look SO GOOD.
Maybe a rename for NE032 should be considered from "The Bugler" to "Bugler - Guides a Cheval"
