The latest issue of K&C's Collector features a new gun, a complete det, NCOs, and a mounted officer. I'm really looking forward to adding these to my collection.

Cheers,

Brendan

WOW !!!!

Even more NAPs this year, and GUNNERS :) :)

Andy did mention to me about NAP Artillery in July, on his 'down under visit' and that they were coming, but I thought after getting the French recently, that would be all this year.

I'm glad that its ROYAL ARTILLERY because he's already made a couple of RHA, and these were the mainstay of British Army throughout the wars.

This year has been good for us Napoleonic collectors! I'm really hoping to see some 95th Rifles make an appearance soon.

Cheers,

Just wondering if you can tell if the new gun is the same as the 6lb of the older K&C's RHA ?

I'm pretty sure that it'll be a new model. I suppose it might just be a recast of the RHA gun.

The new gun looks only slightly different from the previous sets of RHA 6pdr. The RHA used the light 6pdr which was 5 ft long and weighed 800 pds. The Royal Artillery used the same 6pdr but also the medium 6pdr which was 6 ft 6 in. long and weighed 2100 pds. At 1:30 scale the difference is only 1/2 inch.

It looks like the two older sets and the new set are all the light 6pdr. The big difference between the sets are the uniforms (RHA vs RA) and Obee is far better to comment on that than I am.

Yes,

you are correct, it's the uniform that's different, the previous British Artillery were Royal Horse Artillery, wearing Hussar type jackets and Tarleton Helmets, while these Royal Artillery were the same Infantry style coat, but in blue, red facings and yellow lace, and Belgic Shakos, c1812 -1815.

A most welcome set for any Napoleonic Battlefield, 1812 onward.

Looking forward to seeing more in DISPATCHES tonight :)

John
