Haven't seen anyone yet post pictures of these new metal figures from Oryon. I picked up 3 off a dealer who had them as single figures, previous metals from this company have been 1/35 scale but these are a good 54mm/1/32. The detail and painting is exceptional even down to clearly defined fingernails and each figure is extremely heavy (reminds one of the old lead figures)

Fig 1. The Oryon is the Union Officer to the left next to a Conte figure with a Britains flag-bearer to the rear.

Fig 2. Shows 2 Confederates between a couple of newer Britain's as can be seen in both pics size compatability is very good with other 54mm's.
There are at least another 6 sets due from this manufacturer, I'll be waiting for them.

I picked up some of these napoleonic figures and they are realy nice figures but I don,t like the way they sell them in 3 figure batches and just move onto something else. I guess there just looking to sell these as self sitters as you,ll never be able to do much in a diorama with just 3 figures(two of them usally officers).
Too bad these are some great looking figures. If they had more poses and better bases they would be great in dioramas! I may flock the bases on a couple of mine that mix in with my other napoleonics. They mix well with K&C scale but also could go with the new britains stuff also.

Nice stuff!!! Just a bit limited for what i want them for.

What kind of pricing are we talking about?

I got these three at £12 ($25) a pop. The dealer has placed an order for the next sets which as fish states come in boxes of three. Yank & Reb Artillery; Dismounted Cavalry; Reb Sharpshooters. He estimates selling them to me at approx £31.00 ($63.00)a set.

Tend to agree with fish by using the sets on their own would definitely restrict a decent diorama setting, however, as per my illustrations they do mix very nicely with my mass of metals and they do carry exceptional detail and are also very tactile (that's a strange description but you just want to keep picking them up).

Posted this shot on the diorama thread but thought some of you maybe interested in the latest Oryon ACW set. The three figures are dismounted Confederate Cavalry and don't look too bad when set up in a mini-dio.

As an aside I picked this set up from a dealer at the London Toy Soldier Show last week and even better- at a real bargain price.

Apparently just been released So new!new!

I was surprised the dealer in London had them as there appears to be no-one online who have them in stock yet even though the release date for this particular set was given as September 2007.

I plan to acquire ORYON following sets; can you let me know, if Confederates could be mixed with Unimax/FOV ACW figures , and British guards with W.Britain Napoléonic figures?
