Since it's a new month and the K&C Panther and EA sets are due to be released soon, I thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread and have something positive to talk about. It's been kind of boring around the K&C forum and all this talk of need for improvement of K&C skin tones (I don't think so!) and outrageous compensation packages for low-life criminal CEO's has me depressed. It may be jumping the gun a bit, but I'm really looking forward to arrival of summer panther, the Dingo, the Indian Army MG set and the others, looks like a great year in store for us collectors.:D

That discussion may need to be deferred for a little bit as the new Panther may not be out for a couple of weeks (or at least not this week) and the Eighth Army sets are not supposed to come out until mid to late May.

I'm going to hold off on these sets especially since there is no SL in them. I need to pick up some retiring WS and DD sets first. That Dingo sure is tempting though. I've been noticing the trends. A few months back everyone wanted winters sets and before that the retired Arnhem sets and now its the AK sets. Next will be the Iwo Jima sets.

I think the new panther really looks interesting!

Come on, Brad. I've been waiting for the UPS truck since 5:15 this morning, you're bringing me down man. :(

I am looking forward to the Vichy French that Andy mentioned would be out this summer. Something new and novel. Haven't decided exactly which side they will be on though. Also, comparing the Honour Bound Panthers with the KC version. The HB Winter Panther looks particularly interesting.

Sorry dude. I asked George if he was going to have the Panther for VF and he said no soap. Then he asked me if some guy named Fred put me up to it :D

EA sets weren't expected out until later May.

That tank commander sitting on the turret is a great pose, might have to put some that tacky stuff on his butt to keep him from taking a tumble..:D

I know what you mean, I have that problem with my Ak19 which I think

is one of the nicest tanks Andy C has done.

I agree with NJJA, the Panzer III (AK19) is one of my favorites. I also love the Panzer IV (AK23). I think that it would be great if K&C would do as Britains did with their Panzers and make a repaint series of different hull numbers. I would love to have three or four of each AK panzer with a different original hull number.

I agree, it would be great if Andy C released a model available with different

numbers and a slightly different paint scheme. If would make for some

interesting display options.

I just recently got both the AK-19 and AK-23 and have to agree that they are great tanks, have to give a slight edge to the Panzer IV with the extra armor around the turret. I'll cast my vote with John and Michael for different hull numbers, it's kind of lame having two or three tanks in one display all sporting the same number on it.;) Andy, are you out there, how 'bout it?

Fred

Anyone know if the new panthers have hit the dealers yet? I think I'm going through withdrawl, every time the UPS truck goes by without stopping my depression deepens, have to call the K&C help line.

Fred

Yes, the Panthers have hit the dealers. I know Treefrog has shipped theirs out and Bill Sager has been selling what he received on ebay. He's sold 3 already. I've heard that the EAs are to be shipped next week from HK.

Suggesting A new PANZER IV F/G w/ Short Barrel Gun

:) Hello again! Just Suggesting a NEW PANZER IV w/ Short Barrel; NO Plating around Turret; a F/G/ , for Winter, DAK, and Werhmacht?

I received my panther from Treefrog yesterday and it looks great.I have 5 other WS tanks and i will have to say this is my favorite. Great work Andy.
If only my DD tanks had a Firefly to join them in the fight . hint hint

the ak19 figure have the hole to put,in the picture of the ak72 the commander it seems supported by.........???????nothing?anyway looks a great model i wait with impatient.............(yes the ak19 is very nice)

I recieved my K/C Pather yesterday and it has easily become my favorite German tank. I am one happy camper, even if I am the only one who likes the mucked up tracks. Michael PS Just a thought, take the cost of this enormous and highly detailed vehicle, add 4 crewmen and then compare a set of only 4 infantry at almost the same price. The tank has to always win handsdown as a real bargain....

I am very pleased with my K&C Panther. Four figures and good detail except for tow hooks look small and plain. This is the only tank I got other then Marine amtrac and Rommel's Grief. Hope I don't reach the point that I will need five of every vehicle. I will be living in my car-- wonder how many models the trunk holds. John

I didn't have received my K&C Panther yet but as far as I can see it on the pictures, there is no doubts that it will become a favorite, if not the favorite.

It is my opinion that the main force of K&C is their figures and the tank officer is a perfect one while the two others do not depreciate the set, on the contrary. So, for a collector like me who attaches more importance to the figures instead to the vehicule, there is no doubt that the Panther from K&C receives my favour, no matter the tracks.

But, it would be unfair to not recognize or to deny the excellent work done by HB in respect of their Panthers and they are "musts" for collectors who give more importance to the vehicules.

Finally, I would like to profit of this post to underline the quality of the first release of NMA (the mortar set) and I am quite excited by their upcoming SdKfz 232.

Pierre.
