new Prochorowka book (2 Viewers)

My rave review on initial impressions of this book have been confirmed. This is a must have book for anyone who is interested in Kursk. It turns many of the previously 'known' conceptions about this area of the battle on their heads and tosses them out the window. There are many excellent photos to go with the text, many of which I haven't seen before. To miss this book is to cheat yourself if you are a Easten Front fan. -- Al

Thanks for the great review. One of my three favorite Eastern front battles to read up on.
Question? What are the quality of the photgraphs? Have they been seen before or newly released?Looking for good pictures to put together a Kursk Diorama.

I would rate the picture quality as top quality for being published in a book. The book was advertised as having many photos that are previously unpublished. The pictures are sharp and reproduced very well. There are some great action pictures of the infantry and, of course, many of the various AFV's. There are some great Tiger shots, along with Mk.4's, Mk.3's, Marders, Hummels, etc. There are several shots of destroyed Russian armor, mainly T-34's, but some like T-70's and a lend-lease Churchill and a dug in General Lee. There are also some shots of Das Reich's captured T-34's in use. The book is well illustrated, IMHO. -- Al
