Check out new Toy Soldier Collector magazine there's some good stuff on the way!
The problem is: There have been many new figures announced in several editions of TSC for months. British grenadiers (Feb/Mar 2022) FPW (April/May 2022), TYW artillery (Feb/Mar 2022) and now Assyria. The problem is that none of these new figures is available til now. Only announcements for many months. I am loosing any hope in the future of First Legion. This is very sad becauce they made fantastic figures.

I hear what you say I imagine there's a backlog in China and we will see them in the future , I'm not too bothered as I'm still filling in my Retreat form Russia figures as prices are step but the quality is exceptional.

Possibly, but the quaratined cities have been geographically spread over China, with no one city really being quaratined for that long a period, relative to the issues with FL. I do not think the issues are COVID related, possibly a little, but i think the issue is internal, driven by external competition. Basically i think the market/competitiors have overtook FL, once a premium brand with a price to match, but now the competitors have uped their game, quality has improved, as well as range offerings, which FL have failed to match [in offerings]. Which essentially means FL do not offer as much 'bang for your buck' as others. Leading to a cash shrinkage as sales have constricted, add to their is an awful lot of FL figures in dealers etc unsold, nowhere near K & C levels, but still a backlog for people to catch up on.

The company has extended it's sale AGAIN and there is a lot available still unsold. Plus there are 6 days to go on the crowdfunding and just under 72% of funds. Even if they do get the funds, it is for a range which has limited appeal to TS collectors and means we, as collectors, still have no sign of new items.

Was surprised FL has not gone down the limited release route, say of 100 figure releases, with same figure being prodiced in 2 or even 3 variant colours of armourment, for example you could do a Crusader figure, different livery [as K & C and JJD have done] of one with a sword, other with axe and another with a maze, etc. Thats 300 figures, offered out to the TS community, with an deposit deal of say 25% to guarentee you received one or more of the limited figures. Have used figures as examples, but thought that would be a better way to raise capital.

I collect only a single First Legion range - Crusaders, for me the best, by far, on the market, K & C are like cartoon figures, thou some of the newer ones are OK, whereas JJD are not in the Crusader era i am interested in, however, those Almoravid are really good and i have a few in the Tan and some in black, they need no other figures to oppose them. I do have 4 FL Winter Germans, will fit in my Warpark winter Kharkov collection, but have no more as price compared to what i can get for the same money from WP, TGM and JJD is a better deal for me.

Sadly i think FL are a busted flush, bit like Conte, they will bump along like a zombie company, we will get the odd posting from fans/cult members who cannot believe it, same as Conte. I sincerely hope i am wrong but the signs are there.

Someone put on the forum there is no problem and there are loads going to be release, they were on a boat/ship on the way, but shipping take from 14 to 30 days, unless they are rowing!

I guess the boat just arrived...signed a cult member.

But still no update on the First Legion website??

A bizarre way to run a business.

Nothing is set in stone until these are on their website.

If they ever appear……..

Proof? from someone who is in the real world, not cult member or Zealot, you do know because you say something does not make it true.........

Well let's see....the owner of this forum and own Treefrog treasures has posted pre orders on a bunch of new sets, toy Soldier collector magazine ( a fine magazine it is) has photos of new First Legion sets including some great WWII Normandy sets in it's last preview... how First Legion decides to communicate isn't my problem, as long as they continue to create and deliver Ranges I collect is all I care about...and you can shove those comments of cult,Zealot up your arse Mate.

We all need to relax a little. If these weren’t going to be available soon, First Legion wouldn’t have placed an advertisement in a toy soldier magazine for them.

Wether they come tomorrow or in months time its great to hear they are in the game and still making beautiful stuff

First Legion website....I found the smoking gun.

Thanks, there are also pictures of the new pirates in the thread, there does appear to be a lot collectors are waiting for? I do not collect FL, but thought the new Pirates looked like a nice small grouping. However, depends on the price, they are quite expensive, but i always look comparatively as i collect K & C, JJD and T Gunn and i can get more 'bang for my buck' in my opinon by spending my TS funds on those company's releases. For example i have purchased some JJD and T Gunn this month and got 2 figures for less than the price of a single FL figure and FL figures are not that much better quality. While i also got an older 3 set German WW2 K & C set for £95, set i have been looking at for a while and got a 'little win' and would rather buy these than a single FL figure.

Then do it. Not sure that anyone cares - buy what you want and that's it. Ridiculous really.

Bravo Sammy!

These threads kill me. Most of the folks complaining the loudest about prices and the First Legion release schedules don't even collect First Legion.

First Legion, can and should, charge whatever they want for their products.

If they sell then they priced them correctly. If they don’t sell then they were wrong.

Thanks for the update guys the Prussian C-61 and crew will be my first new First Legions figures in sometime.

At $534.70 for the five figures and gun It's a bit steep but lucky for me they haven't been putting out at anywhere near the pace they used to, and I've had plenty of time to put a little away each week for my TS Hobby.

This post aged well................................

Especially the last part; yes, that was me who said that after speaking with First Legion.

They came by CONTAINER, so 14 to 30 days is about the average lead time, but gee, what do I know?

Many of you do realize that the situation going on in Russia and the Ukraine in addition to COVID played a part in all of this, right?

First Legion has/had sculptors/painters in Russia and the Ukraine and all of that has gone to **** since the war started.

Just ask Thor from Areoart.

Anyway, there are a number of items now available to order and people are responding, it was a long wait, but it's over now.

Johnny Gebs, my man. As you well know, you get what you pay for. :) I'll have to email you offline to tell you my wonderful Bavaria story from this past May, simply incredible.

Actually, we have been producing consistently this entire time, just shipping BS. 70 new figures between now and end November.......

70 new figures wow, go big or go home as they say LOL. I guess we can cancel the First Legion obituary.

I can't imagine what's coming, but I'm sure they will be beautiful and must haves for many collectors.

Hopefully a visit to the home country got you inspired to create some new Bavarian figures I've only been waiting since 2008. Napoleonic or Franco Prussian War I'd love to see both but hey anything would be nice. Look forward to the email bro.
