What does everyone think of the new Britains range shown at the London show yesterday. (see the London show post if you haven't).

Andy

th only new range I saw was the -Connoisseur range - is this what you are referring to? If so, I will withhold final judgement until I know what else is planned for the range.

120 quid for one 54 mm soldier is a bit steep.
The Russian figures are in the same league I would presume. It will be difficult to build up a whole charge of Hussars at that price.

It would make my ccollection smaller though.

Hi Guys,

The photos look amazing but at that sort of price they are way out of my league I could make an exception maybe:confused:

Still they look very nice. Hopfully someone with get one and review it for us in detail

All the best

To be honest mate, I have no idea as i'm not a napoleonic devotee. The Britains staff at the show did say that this range would not all be of this period. Read into this what you think....

Hi Guys:

This is a French 4th Regiment of Hussars Officer, Battle of Friedland, June 14, 1807. There is other Napoleonic subject matter in this series being worked on with the possibility of other eras being added over the next few years.

Please note that this was the first prototype and that the final one I have on my desk has a shaped surgical steel blade and additional highlighting and shading.

Thanks for the feedback,

Richard

Seems quite nice and the improvement in detail is surely appreciated; perhaps it will even trickle down to the somewhat less chere range.;) I would like to see some better detail and realism in the horse, especially for this price: not all paintings are accurate in that regard. Best of luck with the series and keep up the good work.

Andy (UK Bod) said 120 GBP. That is quite a lot I am afraid.

That's a very nice figure - especially mounted but 120 is a bit high (IMO). Not to drag K&C into this but it seems that the quality of the figure is at the same level but much more in cost. I could be wrong, though, as I haven't seen it in person.

Still, if it is higher finish level than K&C it certainly is less than a Russian piece would be for a mounted guy.

I think it is a great looking figure but out of my price league. Maybe Santa will bring it to me for Christmas LOL :D

Hi,
I have to echo the comments above, great figure, however, the price is stiff. Perhaps I am being too provincial but given the economy in the USA, coming out with a line like this is seemingly a dicey move. Perhaps it would be better for Britains to concentrate on more figures such as those in the Museum series and the new grade AWI figures. They are affordable and could broader Britains market share. Frankly, there is a lot product on the market and much of it is very good in quality.
