Huzzah!!!: 5th Texas Butternut & Blues

The Collectors Showcase is pleased to offer you folks a sneak peek of our new twelve piece confederate set. These pieces follow hard on the heels of our Mosby Rangers sets and are to be issued in 6 short weeks. There are twelve unique poses limited to just 300 sets worldwide. With connoisseur paint and incredible details we know your gonna love them! Again we’ve pushed the factory and our prototype department to take another leap in quality. You’ll enjoy more shading , washes and drybrush than you’ve ever seen before on our pieces. Add to that our incomparable action and sculpting: and you’ve got pieces that just won’t be around for long.

The 5th Texas was to Robert E. Lee what the Old Guard was to Napoleon. First to advance. The rear guard in retreat. The Texas Infantry formed into the 1st, 4th, and 5th. Hood's Texas Brigades were also the only troops to fight in both the Army of Northern Virginia and the Army of Tennessee, the 5th Texas would form a bond and would follow hood anywhere to the bitter end.Join us, enjoy the finest pieces in the industry at below market prices.

These pieces and all of our May 1st products are on our site and available for pre-order but they can be also pre-ordered from your favorite dealer, dealers are listed on our site under the where to buy section. Support your local dealer! They work hard to bring you these great products.

Forward! Tally Hooo!

Warm regards,

Brian

Beautiful work, Brian. Great animation-action, as is the norm for CS. -- lancer

These are excellent, I'm going to buy them. Now we'll need more federal troops to put down the secesh rebellion. How about more Iron Brigade? Thanks.

One of the nice things about CS infantry releases is the number of releases per batch, 4 sets of 3, which I think is just enough to allow for displaying multiples without it being obvious.

I do wish the figures were a tad taller though to match with K&C because due to some of the poses, such as running with heads ducked down they appear shorter still. Perhaps Britain's figures are shorter, I don't know since I don't collect those.

These releases could certainly be used for an awesome Pickett's charge diorama. That leads me to my suggestions for an unorthodox batch of figures. I was watching Gettysburg the other night and one of the coolest shots in my opinion is of the massive firing line of Union soldiers in tight formation firing in near unison behind the fense at the oncoming confederates. Imagine a release of 8 figures all firing with slighly varied poses, plus 2 taking hits and 2 lying dead over a fence. I was also impressed from the movie that they were in such tight formation while firing. So, perhaps the firing line figures could have slightly narrower bases if possible or perhaps even 2 figures on a single base standing closer than you could get if they were on separate bases.

Union, figures: what a great idea! :D:D:D:D:D:D

The Michigan Brigade commanded by General Custer also participated in the battle of Gettysburg, beautiful figures to release:eek::D

Yesterday, I see my favorite movie "They Died with Their Boots On":)

Union, figures: what a great idea! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Well, I thought I communicated that well enough; maybe not. I'm suggesting an entire release of almost all "standing/firing" poses. Union or Confederate is not the suggestion or the point.

How many standing /firing figures are in most releases?

2-14th Brooklyn
1-Berdan Sharpshooters
0-Wheats Tiger Zouaves
1-146th NY Tigers
1-5th Texas Infantry

King & Country which is up to CW043 has had a whopping 2 standing/firing figures, CW21 & CW29.

This is what I'm talking about...

I just got the 5th Texas in the mail - great stuff, as expected Brian.. What other Confederate regiments do you have on your drawing board for future release? I am looking to make a great "Rebel Yell" charge with your guys only...at least give me a hint of what's to come if you don't want to spoil our surprise

We'll be just moving through a variety of Union and Confederate units, we've found a ton of success in the genre. Artillery, Infantry, Cavalry: so many sets so little time!:)

Enjoy the 5th they're my new favorites too!

Best regards,

Brian

Just took delivery of these guys and have to say they make for a very effective charging front line -they also mix quite well with Britains and Conte

Keep 'em coming Brian and by the way I'll be bending your ear next month with a few ideas for future CS ACW releases as I do believe you are attending the London show. I look forward to meeting you :)
