NEW RELEASE: 7th Union Cavalry With Custer in Command! (1 Viewer)

Over on the CS website you can get a better figure by figure view with pre pricing of the six depicted troopers. They make a nice counter to the previously released five man Mosby led Confederate set. Throw in the Latane and Royal figures plus the original six rollouts and the whole line up is a nice conversation piece grouped in a setting.

Now don't get me wrong, I have quite a few Collectors Showcase figures and was pumped-up when I saw the new release, Custer and the Union 7th. I went to the website and pulled up a close-up photo of "Union Cavalry Attacker". Nice action pose, nice paint job and then I noticed the pistol in the troopers left hand or what was suppose to be a pistol. It looks like a glob of solder, NO detail at all. IMO it totally ruins a really nice piece.

I was really surprised by that as well. The posing on this set wasn't as impressive as I had hoped it would be. The horse of the flagbearer looks to be straining awkwardly to the side, kinda in full stride, but the pose looks like something you'd see if the horse was at a standstill or rearing.

I received two this morning. Beautiful figurines, undoubtedly, but ALWAYS this recurring packing problem making that extremities come twisted ( and if we try to put right, half the time it breaks)

Would somebody he has known the same fate?

General Custer, Looking at it seems it will bend back in place. Do it very slowly grabbing the pistol barrel between your thumb and index finger. :wink2:

Love the concept, although Custer seems a bit awkwardly posed, like someone surprised him. Great dynamic action on some of the other pieces including the flagbearer.

Maybe he's having premonitions of Crazy Horse et al

I had some problems with "ZULU" range: arms moving with paint damage around....I think PA gave you a good advice about slowly making it straight taking gun between 2 fingers and doing it very slowly. I did this with DELPRADO swords and worked good.
