TCS got the wheels on right with this release. I wonder if US manufacture may have something to do with that! Better QA is good.

Firstly this comment has nothing to do with CS or this Tiger but a general comment on made in China based on my own experience.

In 1997 I met the owner of a Hong Kong company that sourced and produced products for some well known brands, particularly die cast. At the time they were working on the USS Missouri for Franklin Mint (pre production / mould costs US$750,000).He was the initial guy that Matchbox sent to China in early 70's to get products made for the UK brand. His No 2 was ex Corgi.

He told me the story of how he had some samples made in China and they were introduced at the next Matchbox board meeting where they initially pretended were made in UK. The board was very impressed with the quality but even more so with the pricing. They were then told made in China. Sometime later he set up his own company in HK.

With his help I got a die cast Titanic produced (sold in UK under the EFE brand name). The quality control testing was very impressive with heat, cold and shaking, dropping etc tests. His No 2 had just returned from visiting GE in USA and they were sourcing some items for them. His company worked on high volume but with a low margin.

Obviously it depends on who you are dealing with in China as there will still be shonky goods made and poor quality control.

If CS are producing in house they will obviously have better control over the final product which can only be a good thing.

This comment makes zero sense.

As in none.

Collectors Showcase paid someone to design and sculpt the master model of the tank and from there, it goes into a series of molds and is manufactured.

WHERE it's manufactured based on a model given to the factory has NOTHING to do with the wheels being right for the tank, that is thanks to Collectors Showcase doing research and getting that aspect of the tank correct, not the factory where it's manufactured.

Explain to me how the factory where it's manufactured has any influence on the actual design of the product being manufactured.

If the wheels are incorrect, that's on the company that designed it, not the factory where it's assembled.

You going to stock when available mate ??

I stated the TSC got the wheels on right. I made no mention of a Chinese manufacturer as the source of the problem. I suggest you reread my post.

I don't have to reread anything, I know what you were implying, now you're going to back off from that statement?

Own the comment once you make it.

I think he may have assumed that due to the "wonder if US manufacture have something to do with that part"
You may not have meant it that way Katana, but it appears to be that you are stating that US QA made sure the product was historically correct in that sentence.
I think Georges point is that the quality control has no relation on a product being correct, quality control/assurance only checks manufacturing to the given designs standards.Does it match the diagram/blue prints, etc that the manufacture was given. If yes that's QA. the correct wheels, height width, paint:) would be the designer/ researcher.

I think it was a simple misunderstanding on reading the post. I was under the same impression.
It's the internet, its hard to read nuances.

I stand by my comment that TCS got the wheels on right with this version. I also stand by the comment that US QA is superior to Chinese IMO. Disagree if you will but do not distort what i said!

Two statements about two different subjects; do not conflate the two. Reading comprehension has certainly fallen to new lows these days; as has punctuation!

I also said TCS got the wheels right, so slow your roll.

Your opinion on US QA being superior to Chinese QA is just that, YOUR opinion.

I expressed mine.

Not only are you the scale police, now you're the punctuation police too?

I'd use a comma where you used a semi colon, but what do I know, you're the expert.

Figarti was a good example of Chinese QC. Flaking paint, missing parts, shifts in scale etc. The problems occurred in small production run products of typically 100 pieces. The companies I have worked for produced products in 100,000 piece production runs; where a failure of QC would have resulted in the QC manager looking for a new job.

To be fair to Figarti didn't they set up their own production from scratch ? That in itself was impressive.

I have heard of stories from other TS brands who have rejected products made by the factories they were using. Yet I presume other items from the same factories were fine. It was their QC that detected the poor products.

Items being run at 100,000 pieces are, IMHO, different to hand painted figures and vehicles being done probably in their 100's. You could be talking about an item being made entirely by machine where it is the high tech machinery doing the work rather than humans.

Seeing as you read this post you aren't stocking these ??
