John, Keep watching. Some new, Something wicked this way comes.{eek3}{eek3}

In the first shot they look similar in size. But as we find out in the next shots that is not so. This is forced perspective. Effective yes?
I think there are some size differences between the early and late PzKfw III's. I am not an expert. Overall length is quite close. Width is a 1/4 inch approx. The deck height well you can see for yourselves. I like both as the detail is different between them Also stated earlier this is a pre-production piece that I Bought from Brian at the WC Show. So the one Brian shows in the beginning of the thread maybe different.

A couple of other things. The headlights not shown here are plug-ins. Hopefully avoiding breakage that way and of course the changeable hatches. I do have the decals which I will add later after a re-paint and weathering process. I will have some shots of this sometime later. Way too many projects going on.{sm4}

Okay much to my embarrassment I found out that AK023 is in fact a Pzkfw IV :redface2: So I took a couple of shots with a first Legion Pzkfw IV with the III. I know they are not the same models but it is all I have. They are different but nearly spot on in height and width. Not perfectly but close. So I apologize for any confusion.

I put a couple of TCS Panzer Lehr figures with the K&C figure also spot on. Okay **** near but very comparable. No problems mixing these guys.{sm3}

I didn't know that the Panzer III was slightly longer and wider than the Panzer IV, but these pictures spurred me to go look that up. The Panzer IV should be about 6 inches taller than the Panzer III, though.

You are right, but they are from different companies which have different scales...

The Pz IV is longer than the Pz. III at 5.92m to 5.55m. That measurement does not include any overhang from the gun. The Pz. IV and Pz. III have similar road wheels, but the Pz. IV has 8 of them and the Pz. III has only 6 so you would expect the Pz. IV to be longer.
The Pz. IV is very slightly narrower at 2.88m vs 2.95 m for the Pz. III and slightly taller at 2.68 m vs. 2.50 m.

Blending what PW & Bradley said, the PzIII & PzIV are similar. The PzIV being very slightly narrower, and the PzIII being slightly longer measuring front bow to rear engine deck (just eyeballing maybe 6 inches or so). The PzIV gains in height both in deck height & having a larger turret (in height)

A side by side & top down pic with the Figarti PzIV would be much appreciated

There is unfortunately no First Legion Pzkfw IV. Only a Panzer III. This is the Figarti Pzkfw IV.
