Good Morning from a very warm and sunny San Francisco Bay Area. Here’s hoping the UK catches a break and has a few weeks of dry weather for the Olympics. Good luck to Team GB.

I know everyone has been waiting with baited breath and the excitement was almost unbearable, so here are the answers to the John Jenkins Pop Quiz. John apologizes to everyone, as he cheated

The jjD taxi is in two colours, Maroon and Green, but mainly the jjD box colour “Maroon”
The Downton Abbey Taxi is Blue
My shirt was black.

Did you get it right?

On to the new releases and we have some goodies for you this month, the first one you know about, but we also have new French Artillery and Camels. What more could one want. I think this a great set of releases, that has something for everyone.

We should have these up on our web site later on this morning.

As always hope you enjoy the new releases as much as I do.

Knights Of The Skies

Something a little different for the “Knights of The Skies” series.
The Renault Type AG, or better known today as Taxi de la Marne (Marne's Taxi) was an automobile manufactured between 1905 and 1910 by Renault and was the first Parisian taxicab. The name Taxi de la Marne was not used until the outbreak of World War I, when the fleet of Paris' taxis were requisitioned by the French Army to transport troops from Paris to the First Battle of the Marne, early September 1914.
It was not uncommon for civilian transportation to be used to ferry pilots and crews around the local area. They would also be used to fetch pilots who had been forced to land away from their official airfield.

Sweden had been a pioneer in cannon design and manufacture since the days of Gustav Adolphus. Their guns were among the best in the world and Sweden was to be an important supplier of cannons to many nations in Europe, especially for arming ships.
At Culloden it was reported that Cumberland’s army recovered a total of eight 4lb cannons.

This French artillery set is also suitable to crew a few of the small guns on the Ticonderoga defences, as well as a firing crew for the larger QFGUN-01 set, which is now back in stock.

Well that's it for this month. Hope you won the Pop Quiz, but more importantly hope you like this terriffic batch of new releaes.

So Excited about the Taxi de la Marne release! So glad that JJ has been reading this forum and saw the overwhelming demand on this vehicle. I think this is a good strategy to beat K&C to release stuff. I'm sure K&C has lots of 'stuff' scheduled to be released and just can't be fast enough to produce the Taxi before anyone else.

Very happy to see the Marne Taxi. It is a beauty. All the releases look exceedingly well done. Even though I don't collect the series, the warrior on the camel is spectacular. -- Al

The Marne Taxi looks superb and I will add that to my collection next month.
Also, nice to see that the 7 Years War series now starts with 2-piece sets.
Great variety in these new releases.
Well done, John {bravo}}

The RENAULT TYPE AG, French Taxi is truely a winner.

Also, gotta' love the PRUSSIAN GRENADIER CASUALTIES #1.
Looks like this range is here for a while. -- Larry

Here is from the release notice

"Two new French Artillery figures, which can be used for several collections. The crewman holds a crooked sponge/rammer which was employed for quick firing canister rounds on mainly smaller battalion guns."

Not an error in production.

Matthew

Like the French artillery piece & cannoners but what is with the guy holding the bent ramrod? Is it supposed to be that way or is it a preproduction error?

I sure hope thats a damaged ramrod, it wouldn't be on much use on that gun!!

I do like the pose of that gunner, all hot and sweaty, like all hard working GUNNERS :)

Also good to see a pair of Prussians being released now, one at a time was trickle feeding us, so bring them on.....

John

like the French Artillery crew ........but where is my WW1 British Airforce ground crew ?????????????????

Dragoon,

wow, thats brilliant..... and as a ex-gunner, I havent seen any rammers like that one...

you learn something new every day..

By the way, what was the website for the image?

John
