New Releases For December 2013 (1 Viewer)

That's what I like...

NAPOLEONICS

AND

ARTILLERY

I've known about this set for a couple of months, but couldn't tell, as John had provided me with a couple of the gunners, which I have painted with grey overalls, for later on in the war.

Here is my work, posed with the 6 pounder gun, but I didn't get the gunner firing, so may have to add him to my set.

I also love the marching wounded Frenchman, so he will also be coming into my armee,

John

nice paint job John...

Can the British Gunners head to Chippawa?

The shakos they are wearing are pre 1812, and stovepipe, not Belgic like the others gunners John has made.

He told me these are made for the Peninsular War, and so will 'rain down fire' upon those French Marching columns that are increasing with his new poses.

Very nice job John and thanks for the close up of these new gunners. They look fantastic.
I like both versions grey and white.
I'll have to get two sets and paint one grey myself then I can mix them up with the previous JJD artillery releases I have.
Shame the Shakos are stovepipe and not Belgic but I'm going to ignore that.
Who knows there could have been a mix of styles in the field. :)

A very good batch of releases covering a lot of collectors interests.

Favourite is the artillery set but unfair to single one out (ok I know I just did !). I think the cameraman is going to pop up in a lot of dios.

Good variety in time for Christmas.

A rather light month for me this time: The Photographer, 2 Tommies waiting and the Female Ambulance Driver.

I was rather hoping to see the Prussian Grenadier Guard Officer for December ( Anniversary of the Battle of Leuthen etc. - would have been a nice touch! )
But obviously can't complain, what with all the recent Austrian releases. ( Wonder if we'll get the Running Prussian NCO at some point as well? ) Fingers crossed.

However I'm surprised no one seems to have commented on the Regiment De Bearn, Waiting in reserve set. For me this is the stand out December release. Wonderfully
posed and very natural looking - superb stuff!

Roy.

A solid release month with variety and creative sculpting.
Very happy to hear that more French for the Peninsular Campaigns are in the works.
These Napoleonics can be used for many other campaigns especially pre-Waterloo.
Agree that a Prussian officer or flag-bearer for the Leuthen series would have topped off
this release.

Hoping John returns to his great First Sudan War range in the next couple of releases. It's been some time since we've seen new figures for this series.

I was on the Jenkins website last night and was checking the different ranges and was amazed of the number of items he has put out since he started his own company.I don't know if he has other sculpters or how big his staff is but just looking at it all it is an amazing total for a small company.
