New Releases For May 2013 (1 Viewer)

As excited as I am about the new F&IW releases, I am really not a fan of the static grass on the bases. Besides not being elegant in application or color (imho), this basing now looks different than the rest of the collection. Anyone else feel the same way, or am I alone in this and will just have to figure out a way to "safely" remove the grass, if possible. Thanks for listening : )

Bests,
Chris

I agree with you Chris and would prefer not to have the static grass on the bases. Hopefully it comes off without too much damage.

Hi,
I'm afraid I have to agree. Whilst it won't stop me buying the figures, I don't particularly see the benefit of it, especially as the earlier releases in this series didn't have it.

The grass doesn't bother me in the slightest, I see no problem with it at all.

Nor do I have any problem with the grass. Different regiment - different part of the battlefield - different ground. As far as I'm concerned, it adds some variety if making a large display with several regiments.

I actually like these grass bases ... but find the pure white snow bases of the 7YW Grenadiers, rather limiting.

I don't like the grass. I am not a big fan of the white bases, but I understand that they are on the snow.

I don't understand the addition of the grass. Though some say different unit and different part of battle, I just don't think there would have been different terrain.

Also, maybe if there was not the grass, which adds labor costs, the price could drop back down. I am holding off on this figure until I see the rest of the poses.

I agree and I think John will produce future Prussians with a mud/dirt base. Easy enough to sprinkle some artificial snow over these bases for a snow scene.
