NEW RELEASES FOR MAY 2024
NEW KINGDOM EGYPTIANS

The New Kingdom, is the period in ancient Egyptian history between the sixteenth century BC and the eleventh century BC. It was Egypt’s most prosperous time and marked the peak of its power.
It is also known as the “Ramesside period”, named after the eleven pharaohs who took the name Ramesses, after Ramesses I, the founder of the nineteenth Dynasty.

The Egyptians were experts in the use of massed archery.
The infantry was usually divided into two. The archers by now were equipped with the newer composite bow, and would be deployed in linear formation. When faced with lightly protected troops such as the Libyans, massed volleys alone were frequently sufficient to effect the necessary level of destruction.
Archers were an important part of an Egyptian army. They were not generally expected to close with the enemy which is evident by their general lack of body armour.
Against more heavily armed and protected infantry the archers would be employed to deliver heavy covering fire for the close combat infantry known as Nakhtu-aa or “the strong arm boys”.
These would advance rapidly, discharging their spears in the process before closing with an enemy already softened up by the supporting fire of the archers, and attacking with their bronze khopesh swords or long mace axes.

These are not in an era i collect, but i am very tempted as they look outstanding.

#1 range we wish we could collect. Hope to see some of you post some pics when you have a display.

John has already added to the original set of figures that were previewed. The archers on the right are new. This is gonna get big on us all

I am thinking about these but may wait until the figures come out in the other headgear, have increased the size of the picture and they look outstanding.

Fantastic figures! This is turning out to be a most impressive line-up.

EDIT: I really look forward to seeing these figures more as they find their way into various dioramas.

I will collect the guys with the other headgear. Did the same with the Almoiravids, i preferred the figures dressed in Black, rather than the Tan version, i have them all and then have started to collect the one in the Tan robes, i have about half of them. So eventually i changed my mind and i think it will in this range, but first the red/white striped headgear ones.

John is, for me, the TS manufacturer who is pushing us forward as collectors, his ranges are very extensive and I applaud the strategy of releasing a wide number of ranges but only 1 to 3 sets in each range. This is excellent for my budget, as it allows me to move my collection of a varity of ranges smoothly.

One negative - wish he would do a version of his tanks without the interior, as they are a bit too expensive for and the interior is not important for me, so if he could do fthem and knock 20% to 25% off the cost i would have probably about 2 or 3 already.
