THE BATTLE OF THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM 1759

The Drummer from the Regiment de Bearn wears the uniform common to all musicians of all the Regular regiments which served in Canada, with the exception of the Regiment La Reine. The drummers of La Reine wore the “Queen’s Livery”, which was basically a red coat trimmed with blue and white lace.

THE BATTLE OF THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM 1759

The Louisbourg Grenadiers was a temporary unit of grenadiers formed by General James Wolfe in 1759 to serve with British Army forces in the Quebec campaign of the Seven Years' War.
Grenadiers from the 22nd, 40th, and 45th regiments were brought together by Wolfe at the Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia in preparation for action along the St. Lawrence River. The unit was involved in numerous battles during the months-long prelude to the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, including the ill-fated Battle of Beauport on July 31, 1759.
After Quebec City's capture, the Grenadiers went on to be involved in the fall of Montreal the next year. After the end of the Seven Years' War, the unit was disbanded and its members returned to their original regiments.

I'm in agreement with Mike ... GREAT new Indians .... Thanks John.{sm4}

Just one request please ......:) ... keep them in stock for a while, please.
With all the tremendous "Raid on St. Francis" releases you done these last few months (RR and RSF) it will take me a bit of time to get them all with multiples!

If they evaporate from your shelves to quickly, then unsavory (xxx)speculators :rolleyes: scoop them up and then ..no one can afford them.

I really like the officer and drummer. I tried to get more of the original drummer but he sold out. I think this new sculpt is fantastic. I placed my order for two sets.

Hi, I'm slightly confused....Is this a different Regiment to QBLG-06N? Are there any differences between the two?

Thanks

Pete

this Indian was awarded the code QB-46 and not the usual code RR. Likely we'll have also a British soldier on the ground to which the Indian took the scalp?! ...we have some Fort William Henry events in the Quebec Collection.
I'd like to see the opposite sides figures like the famous movie scene below.

I am also confused as I thought the Louisbourg Grenadiers had green facings? -- Al

Prior to attacking Quebec, the British successfully stormed the French city and harbor of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia. Among the troops assigned to garrison the city were the 22nd, 40th and 45th regiments of foot. When conducting the Quebec Campaign, Wolfe stripped off the grenadiers battalions from each of those regiments and took them to Quebec City. The bulk of these regiments remained in Louisbourg, hence the "nickname" Louisbourg grenadiers. At Quebec, these 3 grenadier companies functioned together or were teamed with the other grenadier companies, forming a grenadier battalion. By doing so, commanders gained another maneuvering battalion at a minimal cost to the firepower of the parent regiments, or so it was thought.

Only the 45th had green facings, the other 2 regiments buff/yellow.
