In case you haven't seen it yet, Britains has updated their website to reflect their new AWI figures for the later part of this year. From what little info there is available in this dio, it does look exciting.

Richard or Ken..............can you give us some more info and some release dates yet?

Sharp eye RevWarbuff! We put the diorama up last week because we needed an exciting Rev War scene and wondered if someone would catch it! The catalog is due out in two weeks with most of the figures due to be released from October through December. Some great British also make their debut, including an amazing Regimental Colour.

Thanks Richard. I will look forward to the catalog and the info on the new British sets as well.

Hi There! Notice that one of the new 80th Regt of Foot figures are shown in the image at the W. Britain web site. This is one of 4 new poses of the 80th in the second half of 2007 catalog. These new poses will include a marching EM, Drummer, Officer and Ensign with Regimental colour. Other poses will follow in 2008.The 80th was a British line unit with yellow facings, single spaced lace loops and buttons...present at Yorktown.
Yellow facings ( the lapels, cuffs and collar or cape) were one of the most common colours for units fighting in North America during the rebellion, with 15 different units wearing this colour on the madder red regimental coats. Althought the Ensign can only be used for the 80th...the Officer, Drummer and EMs can be used to represent 10 other units with yellow facings and single spaced square ended lace loop. These would be the following: 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 26th, 28th, 37th, 44th and the 46th Regiments of Foot. The other units that had yellow facings had different lacing patterns: The 34th had square ended worn in pairs, the 29th and 30th as single spaced Jews Harp and the 38th as single spaced Bastion lace loops. This information may help some of you building other dioramas that need troops other than the 80th.

Ken,

I love the apparent painstaking attention to details you present in your description of the forthcoming figures for the 80th foot!! It will be great to have some newer looking British in my dioramas. Sounds awesome and I can't wait to see them. It also appears that you have produced some additional NY Light Infantry in this round of new stuff. I think I will commence building a nice a regiment of those guys seeing how you've increased the number of selections for those troops.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Good Eyes! You are correct about the N. Y. Light Infantry... We added two new poses and if you look closely you will also see six more Continental Line poses to flesh things out. As stated before we plan on bringing out new figures for most of the ranges with each new catalog. For some units there will only be 1 or 2 additional poses, but for other units there will be a few more. This will allow you time to purchase the figures you need without too much stress. Keep in mind that the marching figure of the 80th will be offered as a single so if you want multiples to form a line advancing, be sure to let your dealer know early. In this period troops of both sides usually would advance in two ranks at shoulder arms ( which the new figure is at ) or support arms ( see Redcoat #43004 ). In rough terrain maximum support or even trail arms would be ordered to used ( you will see these positions in new Redcoats/Bluecoats ). When closing, the order would often be given to "charge bayonets" the front rank would bring the bayonet level to the chest and the second rank would go to the ready position.

Ken, I too like the Amer. Rev figures. Yours look fantastic! They would look superb in a BSP promotional diorama. Keep up the great work....Nick

Hi Ken,
Nice to see the addition to the 1st Rhode Island ranges as well and the 71st Highlander with his musket raised up at arms. Looking forward to more releases, and purchases.

Cheers,
Benjamin
