New Roman series (1 Viewer)

I haven't purchased the ROM011 or the ROM012 figures yet. If anyone has bought both I would be interested to see how they compliment one another in terms of the one standing behind the kneeling figure.

Greaves were normally worn by Centurions. The Dacian wars saw Greaves worn by the front rank to ward against the Falx. Articulated arm armor was adopted from the Gladiators to protect the arms from the Falx; which was weilded two handed and could sever unprotected limbs with a single blow!

The Scutum sould be more rectangular than square. the Legionary Scutum was typically
128cm X 66cm with a radius of curvature of 79cm based on the analysis of the Fayum Scutum.

The Roman Army by Peter Connolly is one of the best reference books on the weapons, arms and armor of the Roman Legions. The illustrations are superb. Available on Amazon.
