Some of you have already pointed out these 2 new figures from the WB Redcoat series in the photos that Leadmen kindly posted from the Michigan show. Here they are up close and personal:

1878 72nd Highland Regt. 2nd Afghan War
1898 21st Lancers Omdurman

Imagine these lined up in multiples!

Nice figures, they would be even better in matte.
Randy, thanks for posting these images.

They probably could be sprayed with a matte coat. Maybe some of the painters on the forum would have an idea about doing that.

Randy

Thanks for the closeups, Randy,
those are beautiful figures and a "dream come true" for the "Tropical Helmet" fans ;)

Great figures, although not keen on the base, but still great. The detail has come along way especially on the reigns. Now if we can only get some new horses like this for the ceremonial range.

Randy and Benjamia and those interested KRYLON'S Matte Finish Spray Paint 1311 would do a nice job in converting the figures to a matte finish........The Lt.

The base on these figures is standard for the Redcoats line--either green or tan or brown depending on geography.

I bet you will order a dozen of each. Now we just need a piper and officer to go with the marching highlander:)

If I buy the 21st Lancer, his base will be removed. They did without on their F.I.W. mounted officers. Michael

Wow! That lancer looks amazing. In spite of my New Years resolve towards economy, I'm being highly tempted.

Those are really superb. When will they be available?

I don't know yet. The 1st 2009 catalog is expected next month and then there should be release dates provided to the dealers. I am sure you will be adding these to your collection. Have you ordered the Camel set yet?

Randy

I was going to but Treefrog says they don't have it until mid 2009. Is that not correct?

Yes it is. Richard told me that many items that were released toward the end of the year won't likely have restock until April 2009. So I bought up each item on my collecting list as it was issued. Those camel guys sold like hotcakes.

Hi All,

This new 21st Lancer in gloss finish by W. Britain is stunning.

I would have preferred a mounted trooper on a galloping steed to fit my collection of charging 21st Lancers by Little Legion and Dragon Crest.

Raymond.

Hi Lt,
Have you used the matte spray to convert gloss to matte? If so how does it look?
Thanks for the advice

Benjamin the the attached figures manning the Gatling Gun were converted from gloss to matte using Tje KRYLON Matte Finish Spray Paint 1311

Now that's a "jim dandy" of a set Lt.

Hopefully, there's one in the pipeline w/ three figures- extra naval crew that can be interchanged. I'd better wake up I'm dozing a bit.

I'd also like to see the 7pdr. w/ crew produced, commanded by Harness or better yet Stuart-Smith.

Hi Lt,
Thanks very much for posting those images. The figures look great.
Benjamin
