Hi Mark,
interesting post, thank you for sharing. As far as I know this casting method it is allready used for the production of the current Airfix 1/32 figure line as well as some other ranges of different make. The production molds are supposed to be much cheaper than injecton casting molds but still beyond the scope of the hobbiest.

Interesting indeed. On the other end and for small series, I believe the future is with 3-D printing...
