Hi Doughboy, welcome to Treefrog.

What is your favorite WWII set?

Welcome to this great hobby!!!, Only thing is I doubt if your Interest will just stay within the WWII arena( I started the same way), With all the great pieces out there. You will eventually venture to other ones:). But if you have the self control to stay within the WWII arena. Then you have Bested everyone. For everyone in this forum Has collections, that is all over different arenas:eek:.
Anyway happy collecting :D. Oh one more thing. Always save the boxes from your collection, just in case you get tired Of a certain piece. You can sell it, But the value is worth more with a box.

Welcome to the most interesting toy soldier forum I have viewed......
Regards, :)

Well Oz my favorite set so far would have to be the "Bastogne" series. But I am also a big fan of the "Red Army Fall of Berlin" sets. The "Fields of Battle" and "D-Day" stuff is also great. What I would really like to see in the WW2 line is some Stalingad stuff. And I'm really looking forward to the new Italian stuff.

Interesting, do you mainly collect vehicles or figures, or a bit of both?

I mainly collect WWII vehicles with some figure sets to add interest to the shelf displays. I concentrate on the Western Front and have nearly all the K & C Bulge, D-Day and Normandy style sets. I also have all the ANZAC (Australian & New Zealand) WWII North Africa sets that are fighting the good fight against a vast Afrika Korps force  I'm also into the air war and have most of the Figarti German rocket sets and several of the K & C polystone aircraft.

My favourite series are the AK and 8th Army in North Afrika. I have all of the armour and many of the combat posed figures and am looking forward to the Italian series. Another favourite is the Field of Battle series where again I have all of the armour and many of the combat posed figures.

Of course I also collect the Bulge, D-Day and Waffen SS. I too enjoy the Russian series and am especially glad to meet another "Russian" collector.
