Hi,

Just came back from my vacation in France... We spent a few days in Paris and while wife and daughter went shopping I gave my usual visit to the Musée de l'Armée (Army museum) at Les Invalides (where Napoléon tomb is). Well while it's still not indicated on the museum guide I had the pleasure to discover a recent great addition to this museum (overdue IMHO): a full room dedicated to toy soldiers (and they have thousands of them including some cool mural dios). The all come from private collections that were recently donated to the museum. Here are few pics (including some artillery miniatures in the room prior to the TS one). I put a few below and the rest is on my TS album: http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/album.php?albumid=1757 Enjoy!

What an amazing looking building and the contents are equally impressive thanks mate for sharing.

Thanks for posting the pic's, I have been to this museum but it was before these exhibits were displayed. I agree, it's overdue and if I ever go back to Paree, i'll have to pop in and have a look.

BRILLIANT !!!

I heard that there used to be a lot of figures on display many years ago, but in my past 3 visits between 2008 and 2014 they were no longer on show, nor could I find out about them following a vast reorganization and modernisation of the galleries.

Thanks for the info, maybe I can get there again on my trip to Europe next year ???

I got to see this display in July. Our time was limited, as we needed to get over to the Champ de Mars for the fireworks. I did not know what was in those rooms but decided to pop in. Needless to say, I was thrilled that I did, when I saw the toy soldiers. The miniature artillery collection in the adjoining room was quite nice as well. One of my sub-collections is Mignot - French Revolution and some French Napoleonic soldiers. I found a few soldiers to buy at the Musee Carnavalet and the Drapeaux de France toy soldier shop.

Interesting,
I about fainted from excitement the time I visited the museum and they didn't have have Toy Soldiers then. Except at the front desk area where a large selection of Starlux figures were for sale.
