Hi all,

I recently picked up a new vehicle for my US Marines in the Pacific. Part of the US Air Forces collection (AF036), I had been looking forward to receiving this little U.S. Marine Corps Jeep. As an added surprise, not determinable in K&C's pictures, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the windshield can be positioned up or down.

I hitched up the D-Day trailer which I think is a great add-on to the Marine Jeep. The jeep is a nice one and I think a perfect addition to the K&C US Marine collection.

Here she is in action:

Hi Rob,

that's a fantastic idea! I really agree with you. As usual, you have hit the nail on the head.:eek:

Cheers

Enrico

P.s.: another great shot!!!

A lay back driver obviously not concerned about the war around him{eek3}. Robin.

Nice one Rob ! Is the driver removable ?

No...sadly he's stick in there firmly. I use this set with my Aussies in New Guinea displays, although he has a Lemon squeezer type hat he blends in pretty well and the price is not bad compared to other Jeep sets.

YES ...it is a great addition to the K&C family. I picked up two when they became available, as I have missed on other great items due to the ... "I'll get to that next" syndrome.

Not too applicable, for that jeep, to be in the HEAT OF BATTLE dio's, but hopefully in after the battle scenes or as the Marines move inland.
(I am sure Enrico will concur!) :cool:

Just a thought ... :rolleyes2: ... Maybe we can see a re-release of this beauty with a current USMC figure in the seat? {sm3}

Hi Larry

As you say away from Battle areas, it'll work fine. Perhaps Andy can consider as you say a re-issue with a few minor changes, as it could be a quick turn around for him. He'd only need to swap the drivers campaign hat for a steel helmet with camouflage cover of course and vehicle number and you're done ! Could always add change driver for another figure, maybe even add a second, to the set and or accessories !
I suppose the problem with a removable driver figure would be the steering wheel get in the way for putting in, taking out of figure.

Hi everyone,

I agree with LaRRy and Steve, that jeep will work behind the lines, this is exactly what I'd have talked about..:) Anyway... it's a pity that the driver isn't removable! I didn't know it...Shall we ask Andy to make a new release with a USMC in the seat? It could be a good one, isn't it? :rolleyes:

Best regards

Enrico

OR ... just issue the jeep with NO driver ... that would work for me.
Imagine the jeep, on its side with some USMC figures taking cover from Jap fire! WOW ... {sm3}

Hi LaRRY,

in that case you're quite right!:smile2: Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best but... the flow of ideas is too strong to be stopped. It's very challeging!{sm4} I'm loving this forum!!! :eek:

Cheers

Get rid of the driver and it will work. This driver has a real attitude problem.

Hi Guys,
Greetings from Paris...I really like the idea of the 'empty' USMC Jeep...I will look into it when I get back to HK after the London Show!

As I have said many times before...Some of the best K&C ideas come directly from King & Country collectors...Many thanks Guys...and keep 'em coming!

All the best and happy collecting,
Andy.

Hi guys,

Although I did not turn the figure-less TG Jeep pictured in my early Pacific dio - I had taken a few pictures with my K&C USMC figures standing behind and inside the jeep.

Great idea and it's cool that Andy will consider producing one without a figure. Always neat to see how these topics can turn into nice ideas.

I'm not so sure that Jeep could haul a 75mm Pack Howitzer but would be one jim-dandy conveyance for a never
produced (in 'our'scale)37mm A-T gun. Ah...someday.

Oh, here's that picture taken several weeks ago (before the release of the three additional Marines and my K&C jeep). I just needed to turn it on it's side which I had not thought of at the time.

I don't know Randy, Jeeps used to haul a heck of a lot of stuff, and if the Pack 75mm could be broken down into Mule loads, I'd think it possible !

On its side; face down in a ditch; hung up on a fallen palm tree; right side up or whatever the scene calls for. OR .. simply sitting next to a supply depot waiting to be filled and have the driver (some other USMC figure like AF035 guys) beside it while the AF040 guy carrying the boxes appears to be loading ... just sayin' {sm4}

If they come empty, I see at least 3 or 4 or in my Pacific War diorama ...{eek3}

After thought .... :rolleyes2:

Depending on what is on the bottom of the Jeep (K&C Logo) one must take into account the placement and the view when the jeep is on its side.

Not that Andy would mind a bit-o-advertising it "might" distract a smidgen from the intenstity of the scene ... again ... just sayin'

ANDY: Ever consider a "destroyed" Jeep? :rolleyes2: (wrecked windshield, blown tires, bullet holes, crumpled hood .....??????)
