For those of us who collect Figarti's/HB's fine Wake Is. series, check out this new release (as previewed at the Westcoaster) I just spotted at Hobby Bunker's site, WIA-003:

Lookin' good! Congrats are due yet again to Rick and the Figarti team. Great work! I will be ordering one of these along w/ the new German fuel truck. Apparently it comes compete w/ the figures shown is this photo. There's a second view on HB's site that shows an add-on set of three figures that will be available separately (WIA-012). Makes you wonder what the unannounced sets between WIA-003 and WIA012 will consist of......new Figarti is coming in waves!

We need bigger pics. Figarti, HB, the Wake pics are too small. There is new stuff coming out that needs a good viewing

I really like those early war US uniforms. Wake is a great idea for a small line of figures. The old b&w movie from the 40's is a great one.

...and folding wings, I hope

N-P
The Grumman Wildcats on Wake were the F4F-3 which were the 4 gun models without the folding wings. But I sure wouldn't turn down a F4F-4 in early war colors. -- Al

This ole jarhead will be purchasing also, wonder if that is the artillery piece that sank the first Japanese capitol surface ship of the war. Really starting to love Figarti

Don't know if it is meant to represent the exact gun & exact crew & exact poses while they pulled the trigger, but it was one of those guns that sank the ship.

Nice set up!

Apparently the 5"/51cal coast defense guns at Wake started as secondary guns on battleships and when the extra 5" were removed from the battlewagons a number were taken in hand to be used as coast gun. Some also were used after the start of the war to arm tankers and cargo ships.

The six 5" guns on Wake were the ones that sank a Japanese destroyer and damaged several other ships. The 3" guns were used for AA and anti-boat defense.
