Hi All!
I have had several people contact us over the past few months asking when we will offer new work for sale.

Well we have been pretty busy sculpting new patterns for W. Britain and building over 30 custom dioramas for their show and catalog offerings.

With that said I would like to assure you that we have all been busy creating new work and inventory for the Fall OTSN show in Chicago and we already have our rooms and table reserved.
As with last year, we will have a good selection of our Hudson & Allen custom scenics, molded foam products and scenic accessories on view and for sale.

We also hope to have a few new items for sale for the first time as well.

Please stop by to see us in our display and sales room in the hotel. We should be set up and selling no later than Thursday morning and if there is anything left we will also be in the hall downstairs on Sunday.

As with last year we will post some images of the work we will be selling here on the forum about a week before we leave as a pre view.
Take care till then!

Thanks!
We have a pretty eclectic offering this year as far as time periods and themes.
As usual we have a good offering of basic Shelf Scenics (11" X 28") with our 'Wild Grass', and a number of more complex ones including some with buildings.
It is hard for me not to offer some of these earlier, but the show is a major event for the year and a great place to see folks face to face.
When I get back from my road trip with Rich Walker in a few weeks, Ericka and I may post a couple of close ups with some of the newer W. Britain figures on them.
Take Care!

Hi Ken,this all sounds very interesting, can i ask if the buildings will go with a WW2 Scenario?.

Cheers

Rob

You have wetted my appetite Ken.

I've never been to the Chicago Show, it's so far away (I live in Montreal), but plan to go this year. I've even booked a room. I hope to get a few things, but mostly I look forward to meeting others from this forum. Cheers :)

Russell you will not be disappointed!
This is one of the best shows anywhere... hands down. If you arrive on Thursday or Friday you should have plenty of time to visit, shop and meet folks.

Rob, We will have something for everyone, and at least a couple of structures that wold look very good with a Firefly or a Stug passing by.

Anyone attending please make it a point to stop by and say hello and chat.

Is the 'wild grass' that Ken mentioned above the H&A 11x11 base that is already available at at $45.00 or is this a different product? If so what does the wild grass look like?

Is this the H&A grass base in this WBritains piccie of their website??

Hi There!
Yes, this is a base covered in the H&A 'Wild Grass'. This is only sold mounted on bases as the technique we developed is really too difficult for the average modeler and collector to master at home.

We can make these in any size and colour needed, although Treefrog has the 11" X 11" summer green bases as a stock item that we can drop ship.

Take a look at the H&A section and you will see many images that incorporate the H&A 'Wild Grass' on the various scenics we have sold.

Ericka and I will be displaying and selling at the OTSN show again this year and we will have about the same number of hand made Museum Quality scenics again, with several additional scenics with architectural elements.

Please feel free to PM or E-Mail us with any questions.
All the Best!
Ken

I thought I should just chime in being a big fan of the Wild Grass Base from H&A. I supplement the standard 11"x11" base with a tree/environment set sized 3"x11" to increase play factor. The base labeled "Borodino" for example has a 3"x11" piece with birches. Mark d/b/a "RevWarBuff" has an incredible piece with trees in autumn colors:

And I am certain Ken and Ericka have plenty of ideas of how to create a supplemental piece to be combined with the standard Wild Grass Base.

For those who have missed the pictures in the manufacturer's threads, the pictures below have all essentially been taken with two standard Wild Grass Bases (one with a country road) of 11"x11" and the birch-supplement of 3"x11" size:

Andanna, very nice pics and thank you for sharing.:) Having seen the Hudson and Allen bases and multiple of their dioramas with the grass, all I can say is that Ken and Ericka are experts in the industry when it comes to sculpting and dioramas and really deserve an award for the way they've revolutionized the art of diorama making!:)

Hi All!
First off I want to thank you for the kind comments and the posting of images too. As mentioned we are working on our new collection of scenics for the Fall and we thought you might like to see a few of them and how we designed them for use.
Some of you have already purchased our 'Wild Grass' bases or 'Shelf Scenics' but I am not sure how many are familiar with our smaller 'Scenic Elements'.

This is one of our smaller oval shaped 'Scenic Elements' with the edges of the base tapering to almost zero so they can be used as stand alone or as a moveable component on a larger base.

Here is the same base with a couple of W. Britain AWI figures from my collection

Stunning work Ken, that looks amazing!:)

Is it me or does the standing soldier look half sharp, he has clearly exceeded his ration of rum! :D

Here is an image of one of our 11" X 14" 'Wild Grass' bases in front of our standard studio back drop.

Here is the same base with a 'Scenic Element' placed on the rear corner. The tapered edges of the smaller scenic helps it to blend in with the larger grassy base.

Here is the same base with a different 'Scenic Element' placed on it. It really changes the look. The Luftwaffe Feld Division figure is from W. Britain.

THis is a pretty simple 'Scenic Element' base with our 'Wild Grass' and some of the other natural looking elemnts that we like to include. In this case some weeds and poppies. The 'Wild Grass' is resilient and hides the figures base very well, while still offering a stable platform. The grass is not damaged with figure or vehicle placement. The fine details and flowers added are carefully placed as back round elements as these can be damaged with figure placement if you are not careful.

Here are a couple of close ups so you can enjoy the natural look up close.

These are all hand made right here in Michigan by Ericka, Heidi, and myself.

Lets take another look at how two different 'Scenic Elements' can change the look of an 11" X 14" 'Wild Grass' base.

Here is An ONWTC GI I sculpted on the H&A grassy base. His base is fully resting on the base so he is stable, but the grass minimizes the aesthetically distracting cast metal base.

This last one is for you ACW enthusiasts... some of the W. Britain Rebs I sculpted that were released these last couple of years.
I hope you enjoy these images and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
All the Best Ken
