Must say the late war germans from Kand C look superb!
Although erroneously listed under Waffen SS on our site here - they do have the WS prefix, and are listed under Normandy.

They are clearly Army troops however! Must say that some of these figures have a "look" of "Cross of Iron" - that classic 1970's East front movie. Note especially the soldier with the Hitler moustache and the NCO with his collar upturned - just like Sgt Steiner!
Of course that doesn't stop them from fighting in Normany however, as uniforms were no different (just no captured russian weapons). (And there was a sequel to C.o.i that featured Richard Burton in Normandy with remnants of his old platoon.)

Can't wait to get my hands on these! Only slight criticism is the camo.
Though the marsh camo pattern was common in Normandy, helmet covers were not common in this pattern- if made at all. (nearly all were splinter cammie). Neither were 4 pocket tunics and summer trousers at all common in any cammie pattern in the Army.

The commonly seen marsh cammie, was the reversible-to-white, hooded smock . This seems to have been common with the 21st Panzer Div that faught mostly vs the British in the east of Normandy.

However these figure look SO nice that I will have to consider a long time wether to re-paint!

Some of K&C's earlier Wehrmacht figures (and even SS figures!) are wearing incorrect marsh pattern helmet covers as you say, but the pattern on these latest Wehrmacht figures looks closer to splinter than marsh, and in that sense is much improved. It would be good if K&C could perfect their marsh and splinter patterns to the point where they were distinguishable, and then feature both side-by-side in Wehrmacht sets, since the hooded marsh smock was relatively common in Normandy as you said, as was the splinter smock.

Regarding the WS set designation, in retrospect K&C should probably have started a new line called "HEER" with their Grossdeutchland figures (WS038-042) way back when, that would have been composed entirely of their Wehrmacht figures. That way they could keep their WS line purely focused on SS like its name suggests, and stop it from going over 120+ sets while other series like the new Fallschirmjager sets only has less than 10 sets.
