Hey guys,
it looks like MARS is going to announce the next WWII set in its 1:32 series!
WWII JAPANESE!

I will buy them of course, but personally speaking the regular Japanese infantry has been done to death.
Nothing new here. So MARS if you are listening, here are a few more exciting suggestions.

* JAPANESE TYPE 92 Cannon with crew

* JAPANESE PARATROOPERS

* JAPANESE JUNGLE FIGHTERS (covered in palm camo)

A little originality goes a long way and PLEASE watch your scaling.

If they are actually 1-35, which I'm sure they are. No sale here.

Regarding the Waffen SS set, I'm going to do an in depth post of the scale. We'll see?
Their other releases (Nam) are 1:32. Hopefully they adjust accordingly?
Remember TSSD, CONTE ect are really 1:30th. I prefer that scale but lets not start calling 1:32 = 1:35th, that would be false.

If they can fit in well with Airfix, Marx, TSSD and the BMC, I'd be interested.

Waiting for scale check, before they see my check.

Folks complained the BMC Japanese were too big, if they are small - it won't be so bad, considering Japanese are somewhat smaller in stature on the whole.

I guess EB,Publius and Plastic Platoon are spoiling it for Mars as the sclupts for the Japanese are looking shabby next to the other companies,sort of remind me of the various sets that come in the tubes but would rather see some Winter War Finns or 1940 Dutch from Mars(One can Dream)

I saw that - sounds 1/72 scale to me; but if 1/32 scale, good sized set, though I wonder at the price. This is one to watch for - if only out of morbid curiosity... {sm4}

I saw on one of the 1/72 scale sites that MARS was making a set of 1/72 Japanese, so this I think is them.

You guys might be right!?
I'll BET they'll be the next 1:32 MARS release regardless!

Nor would I. It wouldn't be the first time they (or other companies for that matter) have done sets in both scales; for awhile there, HaT was doing three 1/72, 28mm, and 1/32.

It's a common sense approach, I think.
I prey they upscale a bit and cover some much neglected and needed WWII subjects.
PLEASE NO MORE : regular GERM INF, US INF, BRIT INF, JAP INF LAME and over done subjects!
At least they started off with doing "elite Germ" = WAFFEN SS.

MARS PLEASE, watch your scaling and choose your subjects with "awesome" in mind.

1939 Poles,1940 Dutch,Greek vs italians,Romanians,Yugoslavs,Western European Civilian resistors,Eastern European Civilian resistors.Asia,Jap Naval Infantry(Sailor Suits),Chinese(German helmet),Indian Army,Philipine Scouts,Africans(14th Army) The Stuff that Dreams are made of but seriously I know 1939 Poles would sell and most of the others too just look at all of the 1/72 sets of these subjects that are in production,upscaled sets would move.

I would love everything you listed, but the more obscure sets that only hardcore collectors like you and I would buy could put MARS out of business.

The trick would be to find the middle ground, I thought you mentioned a few realistic sets that MARS could get away with releasing:

*POLISH INF. *ROMANIAN INF, *INDIAN INF and maybe some *FRENCH INF?

The really obscure stuff would be safer for smaller companies to release, stuff like FRENCH RESISTANCE and JAPANESE NAVIL INF.

Buy the way, MARS is a Polish company so we may yet see POLISH INFANTRY one day released in 1:32 !?
Maybe we should spur them to get patriotic!?
