I've just gotten word from Gideon that Andy has announced that IWJ 08 and IWJ 09 have been retired. It sounds like K & C may be doing new IWJ releases in connection with the forthcoming Clint Eastwood movie.

Probably makes sense to have upgraded figures available in time for the August/September release date: it'll be many people's first look at K&C so why not improve that range to the same level as the other ones?

I believe his last release of Marines was to coincide with the 60th anniversary Of Iwo Jima, I doubt that any more Marines are on the horizan.

Dear Gary,
See my new thread regarding the K&C Event at the West Coaster, we will be seeing new Japanese and Marines to coincide with the release of Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers in August.:)

Yea Steven, I read your post, good news.
I wonder tho what size these Marines will be? If you recall the last group were a bit smaller than K&C,s recent releases.
Also read your post on the amount of dealers at the West Coaster. Was thinking of going next year, but only 30 dealers and 60 overall is not many when my only other toy show comparison is OTSN.
Not very cost effective with me living in the mid west, rather spend the travel expense on new K&C products.

Dear Gary,
The West Coaster is great if you live in Southern California. I am one of the few collectors who actually comes a distance to attend this show. It is much, much smaller than Chicago, and I spend more time talking with the manufacturers like Andy and Rick. I would agree with your assessment ... save your money for new K&C stuff.:)

As for the size of the Marines, no one asked Andy, but I would assume closer to the current standard, so larger than the last group.:(
