Louis,
Is it just me??? but I am starting to feel a bit apathetic about the releases lately, I mean it's great modeling and subject matter but i really need something different from K&C. I thought the new AK stuff was really nice but....it didn't really excite me like some affordable warbirds and accesories would, I mean theres soo many tanks and figure sets now?
As a man who has it all, what do you think?
Ray
I think American and German infantry has been done to death. I think the Tiger Tank and the Sherman Tank (except for variations like the firefly) have been done to death. I think K&C should completely take a hiatus from Waffen SS and American Airborne (I think K&C has done more of these figures than actually fought in the war).
I would like to see some new and different themes. I would really love see the air war get its due. K&C has never done bomber crews. K&C has never done german or American ground crews. K&C has never done an airfield firetruck.
I would also like to see some British armor and British and Canadian regular infantry. And the rule at this point should be, if K&C has done a polystone version of a particular fighting vehicle, Andy need not revisit that particular vehicle until he has done every other vehicle that saw action in the campaign in question. I frankly am sick of Tigers, Panthers, Shermans and variations of the M3 Halftrack.
That being said, I think K&C has beaten me to the punch and addressed most of what I would like to see. Just look at the new Elefant (brilliant!), Chafee (ditto), Raupen Schlepper (awesome), M5 High Speed Tractor (same) and Panzer IV (looks to be the best piece of German armor from K&C to date). These are all either totally new (Elefant, Raupen Schlepper, M5 High Speed Tractor) or only done once before a long time ago (Chafee and short barreled Panzer IV). From the air war perspective, the new warbirds, while very very expensive, are beyond incredible.
Now if K&C would make some more commonwealth stuff, some affordable aircraft and some support pieces for the air war, all would be right as rain for WWII collectors.
