Well we have let Seattle enjoy being the Champs for a few weeks now, so time to move on!:) I'm glad for once my Ravens have actually sealed up two of the big free agents in Suggs and now today Pitta, now if we can get Monroe on the O line, maybe resign A.Jones, (DE) and D. Smith(LB) we will heading in the right direction...Sammy

About time this thread got started!

As for my Niners, I am just hoping that the Harbaugh turmoil passes and we survive until Bowman returns.

Catch me in September, when my football interest rekindles, unless something juicy breaks loose or the Redskins change their name. :rolleyes2: -- Al

I will wait until I see how the Giants do in the draft and free agency before I get excited about next season. They need at least two quality offensive linemen, a pass rusher, a wide receiver, tight end and running back to be contenders again.

The NFL remains a hot topic on Bay Area sports-radio with all of the Harbaugh news. Even with spring training getting started football is the talk of the town.

It does make me feel bad for the Warriors and Sharks who are doing pretty well. They get almost no air time thanks to the NFL.

So yesterday I read the news that the Broncos got Talib, the second year in a row they signed one of our best players.

To stupid, stupid money, 8 years, 26 million guaranteed.

To a guy who can't stay on the field, who missed the last two AFCCG's.

Wow, Denver also got Ware, they are GFIN.

THEN, today I read the Patriots got Revis.

One a one year, 12 million dollar deal, which is low risk for THE best corner in the game, they can franchise him for the next two seasons should they choose to do so.

WOW.

Double WOW.

He signed the deal because he wants to be in New England.

Someone needs to interview Elways teeth on this one.

Where are the Redskins and their usual crazy signings?
Been pretty low-key so far. But fear not, it is early and there is plenty of time for one of Snyder's haywire signings. There are plenty of options out there.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

The Jets signed Decker away from Denver.

He's automatically their best receiver, which means Revis will cover him.

Checkmate.

I think Revis is a good signing but because he was still recovering last year, he's not the best anymore. The Pats, assuming it was their decision, were smart in only signing him for a year because sooner or later he starts complaining about his contract.

Reports are the Patriots have signed Brandon Browner to a two year deal, his agent is denying it, but Browner is telling close friends he's a Patriot.

He's suspended the first four games of this year due to PED's.

That said, he's a beast........................him on one side, Revis on the other.

Holy @#$%.

Go get Peppers, sign Sanders or Nicks and they are in business....................

Lo and behold, I wake up this am and the Redskins have signed 3, of which Jason Hatcher, 299lb DT (lead DT's with 11 sacks last season), actually looks good. Doesn't hurt that he came from the Cowboys. Also got LB Darryl Sharpton and CB Tracy Porter. Maybe a couple of these signings will actually workout to the Redskins advantage. :rolleyes2: -- Al

A great day for the Ravens and be named Smith, as the Ravens resigned Daryl Smith, (one of the better Raven defenders last year) and of course Steve Smith from Carolina, I believe he still has some gas left in the tank and isn't afraid to go after some balls and get dirty, with Pitta returning and Troy and Steve Smith our recieving corps looks to be much improved, now fix the O line and I will be a happy camper:)...Sammy

ESPN and the NFLN are both confirming the Browner deal is official, 3/17.

He can play either corner or safety, can cover tight ends as well, plus he hits like a truck.

Have to give the Patriots credit; two years in a row in the AFCCG, Talib went down and they were toast.

Bill saw Flaco torch the Patriots two years ago and Manning dink and dunk his way to 400 plus yards this year, enough is enough.

Just like in the 2007 AFCCG when they ran out of gas with a rinky dink offense, so they went all in and brought in Moss and Welker and went 16-0, now they are doing the opposite with defense as they clearly see Manning and Denver as their biggest threat.

With Revis and Browner signed, Mayo back from injury and Collins moving into a cover linebacker role, good luck throwing vs the Patriots in the new pass happy NFL.

They need another WR and pass rusher still, hope they fill those holes via free agency and use their draft picks on a DT, a TE and a offensive lineman or two.........................awesome, just awesome.

Not that I'm shying away from a good game but I am so glad the Patriots and Broncos are NOT on the Ravens regular schedule for 2014, it never seems to fail that we play one or both of these teams every year!! so good luck to ya George hope to see you in the Playoffs next year...Sammy

Nicks signs with the Colts, 1/3.5 million.

Nicks, Smith both gone, WR's are drying up.............

Peppers signs with Green Bay, 3/30, Spikes leaves New England for the Bills, 1/3.25.

He hits like a truck but can't cover anyone to save his life and in todays NFL, that is a recipe for disaster.

Patriots resign Edelman, years/numbers not announced.

Thank Christ, thought for sure he was going to the Ravens, glad they choose Smith instead.

The story goes Smith was to visit the Patriots after the Ravens, he was on the phone to Belichick on the plane to Baltimore and Bill was telling him how much the Patriots wanted him.

Smith said Harbaugh did an incredible sell job, so he signed with the Ravens.

Once that happened, the Patriots contacted Edelman's agent and got the deal done.

Thanks Harbaugh, I really appreciate it....................:wink2:

Early on ESPN was reporting that many teams were waiting on wide receivers to see if any deals could be had. It reminds me of collectors at shows who wait to the end of a show for some bargains, with the risk being that what they wanted might be gone.
