GO THE BOYS IN RED AND WHITE!Always good to beat Germany on their home soil,we gave away a sloppy first goal but were the better team on the night.Congrats to Wales as well. There was a guy at the Scotland vArgentina game with a flag that said 'Thanks for 86',bet he feels a prat now:D;)

Rob

What an idiot he must be to still be going back to 86 what have they done on a pitch since.

Was dragged round the stores last night so caught glimpses of the match good result with a lot of guys out of the mix.

Still think David Beckham should join Portsmouth for the season!!! :D

Yep obviously a sad sad man.As you say Tony considering we had a lot of players out through injury i thought we played well, gives a small glimmer of hope for the future.

How are Pompey doing in the league at the moement then?

Rob

Mid table with some good matches ahead for some points!! probably will finish there as well. but thats cool, mind this time of the season you can fly up and down the league with a win or a loose

I see your 9th in the league, thats a good place to be right now.As you say things go up and down pretty quickly but you must have a great chance to be in the prem again next year.

Rob

No offense dudes but in all honesty what has England done in World Cups since then? Not much either.

Got further than Scotland have?.Correct me if i'm wrong but we did a whole lot better than they did at the last world cup.I think Tony's whole point was (apart from the small mindedness of the guy with the flag)that we have done better than Scotland in most football competitions. So who are they to throw stones at us?

Rob

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this and didn't see the actual photo but when I hear there's a fan at the Scotland v. Argentina match and he says thanks for 86, I assumed he was referring to Argentina, which won that Cup (albeit sending off England unfairly on that "hand of god" goal).

However, if you're talking about who's done better in recent competition, England or Scotland, obviously England.

Are we friends again? :)

:D Of course mate!

The guy with the flag was thanking Argentina for knocking us out with 'the hand of god'.Which is very petty in my view and led to Tony's question of 'Well what have they done in the last twenty years'?!

Sorry to get riled up about this Brad but in recent years there is a trend of verbal attacking my country from across the border that myself and a growing number of people are getting thoroughly sick of.And whilst in a mild mannered chap like me(;)) it doesn't make much difference,it is driving nationalism and an anti Scottish feeling. It is also a red rag to our football hooligans.

Stepping off my box now Brad;)

Rob,

This is what comes when I make a statement and don't know what the heck what I'm talking about (nothing new there:eek:). Another thing that we shouldn't forget is how Simeone (I think it was him) goaded Beckham in 98 in Paris in a match that England probably would have won. Since then, I haven't been too unhappy to see Argentina get the boot. Did you also know that Maradona is now the coach of the national team? I just can't see that. With all of his drug abuse, how can that be an inspiration to or leader of the team representing his country?

I thought it was only me that thought his appointment as manager was weird:eek:.Is it me or was it hardly five minutes ago the man seemed like a wreck?.I understand he threatened to quit four days after he was appointed!.One things for sure, life in the Argentina camp won't be dull.As you say Brad its not a good example, especially to young players.

Putting that joker in charge of Argentina is like us putting Gazza in charge of England!!

Both great players of there time but their private lives are not an insperation and should be kept away from the media as much as possible as not to influnce the millions of children following soccer around the world.

To be honest that is why i fly the flag for David Beckham and alike as they play hard, and are married and have children and follow a good life. If a kid looks up to them then good on them.

And as for that joker that is in Newcastle after being in prision for beating a fellow team mate on the training field and beating a fan outside a bar.........he should be chained to the home end of a Tyne & Wear derby and let the Mackems feed on him! idiot.

I hate anybody that takes an advantaged situation and abuses it!

To be honest Rob as well i thought it was an Argie that had the flag even worse that it was a Scot, should have known better!

Tony
