It was great to see Niena represented at the Westcoaster, and it was very nice to meet Nicholas. He had some very impressive sample on display, and he explained to me the different levels of painting (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest) Niena offers. Not all figures are available in all paint levels. This is due to various reasons, but chiefly it seems sculpt dependent. For instance, and I think I understand this right, certain figures might not be offered in a level five because there may not be any benefit to it as a level four is perhaps the highest quality a particular sculpt could yield. Conversely, an intricate, exceptionally detailed sculpt like many of the samples on display may not be offered in a 1 or 2 level because the sculpt detail demands a higher level of paint application. I look forward to trying out a Niena figure, but first I must recover from going over budget at the show like I always do. Niena has quite a large catalog to select from, and Nicholas said he is more than happy to help those interested in figure and paint level selection. Some of their figures are available right here at Treefrog.I took pics of only 54mm samples, although they also carry figures in larger scales. Thanks again Nicholas. I enjoyed meeting you and talking toy soldiers! Here are some pics:
