Night Patrol (1 Viewer)

Night goggles are working just fine, no need for a full moon. Once again something quite different from your workshop Steve. Robin.

From our the Professor of Creativity (Steve) …. another interesting and different approach to dio's.

Did night vision glasses exist in the 60's? :rolleyes2:

Cheers Larry and yes the US had started using the Starlight scope in the 60's. I think some sort of night scope was used by the Germans in ww2.
No doubt there will be ww2 experts on the forum who could tell more .

Night shots are always difficult to capture, Steve. Definitely on the hunt for some Vietcong. Cool!

Night scope shown in the J Wayne movie Green Beret. Nice shot wth the NVGs. What did you use for the effect? If you don't mind disclosing. Chris

Hi Guys.

As Rob says, night shots very difficult to capture and result usually disappointing. So I thought about coming at the problem a different way and took the photos in daylight and used photoshop for the effects.
For night shot, just darken the photo under the enhance tab that gives you the option of lightening or darkening the photo.
For the NVG effect again under enhance and just did the colour change option giving it a green hue and the also under enhance adding speckle effect.

So there you go guys, much easier then darkening rooms !

Any movement at night and you were likely to get hit from both sides,,sorry about that,,Night vision at that time was a "starlite",,cumbersome

Experiences can often differ between locations, time, units etc , so it's always good to hear recollections from people who were in Vietnam and their own stories of what they found whilst there.
Hopefully at some stage K&C will get round to representing the Big Red One and other Army units, which would open up a lot more possibilities in dioramas.
