Nick and I finally got to briefly rub elbows with some of the big shots in the industry. But it went so quickly I really don't, for the most part know who I met. I got to talk to Shannon, as expected she was very pleasant to talk to. I met Peter and Louis and they were equally as cordial. I had about a 1 minute conversation with Andy, and then they were gone. Louis, I apologize for not attending the Symposium, but I didn't feel that we were well accepted enough in this hobby to attend. Hopefully Nick and I will attend next year. It is all very different when you are not behind a keyboard!! Firebat

Jazz come on you had to be there some where.............Nick and I don't bite.......we may growl a bit

Hey look at George's Fathers head in the last pic, it looks like it is growing out of Nicks building!!!

Alex,

I looked for you but I had to leave early and really wanted to meet you guys. I had basically been away from the house for three straight days and as you can imagine my wife and son were none too pleased so I promised myself that I'd be home by 12.

You and Nick really should come next year. I don't know how long you got to talk to Gordon but I think you guys would have had a lot to talk about and it would probably be very interesting to hear the three of you talk shop.

I can honestly tell you that has happened in the past year with Battle Scene Productions was something that was not planned. So Nick and I don't take ourselves very seriously. But I guess the status that we have gained (What ever that might be) has to be regarded by us more seriously in the future.

A lot of members both here and at the Chat do rely on our pictures and comments to guide them in their collecting choices. Because they believe we give an impartial account of the products we are dealing with in a particular project.

After talking to the powers that be it was very satisfying to be treated respectfully by them, and I gained a lot of respect for them also. So I took some time to reflect on my beliefs regarding this hobby and they have not changed. I believe that we are fair with our product assessments, if not a but gruff. I will smooth my tone out a bit this year, but Battle Scene Productions still stands as a watch dog for the collector, and will always be honest in assessing the products we get to work with. Alex

I am sure there are many members that do not really care about what we think, but we have to assume we have gained a position which demands responsibility on our part, even if that is not the case. But a lot of the PM's & e-mails we get do ask us for our opinions.................

No Nick and I are not brothers maybe our hair is related though:D :D .........................

These shows seem an excellent method of bringing together collectors with different outlooks on this terrific hobby and I envy those that attend them. It is easy to form an opinion on someone based on forum discussions that may be exagerated or even entirely wrong.

I have also found that most people will not change their opinions as they feel they have a better idea of what is in their own mind, and it's hard to argue with that. We are pretty much stuck with our own personality but we can change our behaviour. And in this regard I have been taking it easy on the forums myself, and I have found that my blood preassure is much improved lately ;)

It was a fun show, and great to meet Nick and Alex. Heck I even make a cameo appearance in one of their photographs - look for the guy in the coat made from an old Navajo blanket in the second shot from the top.
