I just received my New Model Army mortar crew... On first sight it looked good, but then I saw the 81mm mortar itself.. Looked just like and unpaited, unweathered Tamiya mortar:mad: .. The crew itself didn't fit in like it actually should. I bought this set because I thought it would fit in right with my K&C collection, but it really was just a dissapointment:( .. First time and also last time I bought something from another company in stead of K&C..

Greetings to all,

Ranger

Ranger,

Not my impression at all, my NMA mortar is placed in the middle of one of my K&C dios and the crew fitted in well with the "Berlin" SS. The pics were posted on another thread. The mortar was plain because it was and I believe the crew are in excellent poses to display the mortar.

Looking forward to the rest of NMA offerings, as well as my soon to arrive HB panthers and the pile of K&C I've got lined up.

The more companies the merrier, and I'm not even mentioning the 1:32.

Got to say i agree with Andy, mine looks very good next to my K&C Normandy SS.Am really looking forward to seeing NMA German paras in London the week after next.I think they are the only company i feel happy to have next to my K&C.

Rob

Rob, we need you to go commando to the London show. Pay a kid some money to touch stuff at one end of NMAs booth. As thier attention is diverted start taking photos of the German Paras, then get the hell outta there, go home and post pics here. We're counting on you.

Godspeed

I also have to disagree with Ranger. Got my morter team right in the middle of my Berlin SS and it fits like a glove.
Really looking forward to future NMA releases.

Mine are just Okay in my opinian.

The E tools were very fragile and 1 just broke off. 2 of the crewmens hair was not painted at all, primer showing.
I was going to send them back to treefrog but decided I could fix the problems.
Shouldnt have had to but I'm rather forgiving.

I like this set. It was a little tuff getting the figures to grip the mortar legs. I also had some flesh colored paint on the sleeve of one figure. But I think they do fit in with K&C figures.

Mine looked great as well - maybe FUBAR just got a bad one? Even some of my K&C stuff has turned up broken in the past with different colour paint splodged on bits that shouldn't have had them. Remember K&C have had 20 years doing this kind of thing, people like NMA and HB are only going to get better in my opinion the longer they go on. I can guarantee both of these companies produced a better first release than K&C's first release but look how valuable the first release of K&C is now.
You only have to look at HB winter Panther which looks awesome and NMA's 232 which looks far better than K&C's version, to see how far both these companies have come over a very short period of time. At least NMA are not releasing 1250 of a vehicle and trying to call it a limited edition, and hats off to HB who are honest enough to tell us they are going to keep producing until they stop selling a particular vehicle, rather than brand it with 'special edition of only 2000' which I can guarantee will happen in the future with K&C.
Whatever the result I love all 3 companies offerings as it adds varietyand I hope they all keep offering us stuff as long as they can take the good comments with the bad. Only my humble opinion for those who are interested.

Toricda, trouble is i'm going to be there at 7am so it might look a bit obvious!!!.maybe i could say that someone has parked a king tiger in the lobby and its about to be towed, and when they rush out to have a look......

Rob

Rob,

We can always do a pincer movement. You distract and I snap. I'll be the one with the camera equipped with a very very long lens. Dom't tell NMA as I don't think there rumbled the plan yet.

You know you can always get a replacement from Treefrog for anything that arrives less than up to snuff. Offer still stands on your mortar team.

I didnt want to hassle you over it. It was a small enough fix.

It was a pretty decent set considering it was their 1st offering.

The pics of the set looked fine to me.

Btw, what's this thread doing in the King and Country section, it should be under 'Other Manufacturers'. I thought we had an agreement not to bag products on inappropriate threads :(

Agree with you.

Pierre.

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't even noticed it since I tend to read posts from the "new posts" area of the website. Probably an oversight. I've moved it over to NMA territory.
Regards,

I am one of those who happens to really like his mortar team. I have it displayed with a destroyed Berlin diorama. They work extremely well with the K&C and they are the only other manufacturers product that I have with the K&C guys (and women, mus'ent forget the Russian's).

I also really love the mortar set and, while I fully respect the opinion of Ranger, is it possible to, at least, withdraw the thumb down as everybody, at one exception, expressed his satisfaction towards that set.

It would be fair to NMA.

Pierre.

I'm not sure if the software allows that once the person does it, even if Ranger wanted to do so.
